Beer Review: Victory Golden Monkey
Light in color, with a medium body, there were slight spice / fruit notes on the aroma of this potent (9.5%) beer. Wow! Talk about a big-time spice hit up front! This brew mellowed out from its initial onslaught and smoothed out towards the end. I found this tripel almost a little 'thick' tasting (yeast?). It also almost seemed a little bit cloudy. Interesting.... Overall, a nice, yummy, complex brew. -- Brewmeister G

This beer greeted me with a distinctly spicy and sharp aroma that hinted at coriander. Clear and golden in appearance, with not much of a head, this brew started out with a bite (but it was not bitter). The flavor quickly became smooth and finished warmly. Spicy, rich, and crisp, Golden Monkey had a light to medium body. I found this quite a delightful tripel with a lot of character. Beware, though - this funky monkey is more like a gorilla (9.5%)! -- Growler Guy
