The Story

The Beginning
Thousands of light years away, on the planet Vegeta, lives a savage race called Saiyans. Planet brokers hired these people to conquer other planets for them in return for gold and technology. The Saiyans tested newborn babies for power ratings and leadership abilities. The weak were sent to far off planets, where they were no threat to their enemies but could easily carry out an order. One of these babies was Kakarott, who was sent to the planet Earth. Shortly after Kakarott was sent, planet Vegeta was destroyed. One year later, an old man named Gohan found the young boy alone near a space capsule. Gohan adopted this young child and gave him the name Goku. Because Goku was a Saiyan, he was violent and strong. Gohan raised Goku and taught him martial arts. This is the beginning of Dragon Ball, which tracks the life of young Goku.
The Adventure Begins
The young Goku carries a huge fish on his way home, but a young girl, Bulma, bumps into him with her car. Goku believes its a monster and attacks the girl. Bulma finally gets Goku stop and believe she is human. They go back to Goku's house. Bulma then realizes that Goku has the dragon ball that she is after. Goku is unwilling to give it up. So Gohan-san agrees to join Bulma in her search for the seven mystical dragon balls. When all the dragon balls are collected the Eternal Dragon grants whoever summoned him any wish within his power. That night Goku goes out to find food. He bumps into Shuu and Mai, who are also after the dragon balls. The next day Goku finds a lost sea turtle and helps him back to the ocean. In return for his help he gets the Flying Nimbus(a magical cloud that allows him to fly). And Bulma gets another dragon ball. Counting the two she already had, Gokus' one and the one she just got, they have four of the seven. Bulma and Goku meet Oolong(a shape shifter) on their way to Mt. Frying Pan for another dragon ball. Yamcha is a desert bandit. He tries to rob Bulma and Goku, but he is scary off by Bulma because of his fear of girls. Yamcha, hiding outside the camper, over hears Oolong talking about the dragon balls and the wish. So Yamcha follows them, so he can steal the dragon balls and wish away his fear of girls. Once at Mt. Frying Pan Oolong tells Goku about The Bull Demon Lord, aka Ox-King, who lives on the mountain. At the top they find that Ox-King is trap outside his castle by a raging fire. The Bull Demon Lord asked Goku if he know Kamesennin. "Yes" goku replies. Ox-King then ask Goku to go and ask him to put out the fire. so he heads off to Kamesennins' Island. When he arrives, Kamesennin agrees only if he can peek at Bulma's body. Bulma agrees and Kamesennin powers up and fires a kamehamaha energy attack that puts out the fire and blows up part the mountain. Bulma then asks Oolong(shape shifter) to turn into her double, so she doesn't have to strip for Kamesennin. Ox-King thanks Goku and offers him his daughter Chi-Chi's hand in marriage. Goku not knowing what he means agrees to marry Chi-Chi. Bulma finds the dragon ball in the rubble from the kamehamaha. Then goes off to find the last one. On the way to the last ball Emperor Pilaf’s henchmen rob them. But they left Goku’s behind. Yamcha and Pool go to the castle to get them back. And found themselves trapped in a cage. The Emperor takes goku’s dragon ball and goes outside to summon the Eternal Dragon to get his wish. Goku makes a small hole in the cage with the kamehamaha, so Oolong and Pool can turn into bats and stop Pilaf. Oolong jumps in front of Pilaf and takes his wish. Oolong wished for the ultimate in underwear clothing. Pilaf lock Goku and his friends in a steel room with a glass ceiling. Goku then tell a story of a giant monster that comes from the full moon, the same monster that stomped his grandfather to death. Bulma asked Goku if he had looked at the moon that night. Bulma then realizes that Goku was the monster and tells him not to look up at the moon. Goku did it anyway and turned into the monster (Ozouru a 20-foot ape 10 times Goku’s normal strength). Goku now Ozouru completely trashes the castle almost kills all his friends, including Emperor Pilaf and his henchmen. Then Yamcha and Pool remember that Ozouru’s(Goku) weakness was his tail. So Yamcha grabbed his tail and Pool turned into a giant pair of scissors and cut off his tail. That turned him back into his normal self again and sleeps until morning. When Goku wakes up he doesn’t remember what happened to the castle, where he was or how they escaped. Bulma and Yamcha complained about them having to wait a year before they can wish for a new boyfriend/girlfriend. Then they realized that they were meant for each other.
Goku’s Training Continues
After arriving at Kamesennin’s Island the old man told Goku to find him a girl. After several girls that Kamesennin doesn’t approve of Krillin shows up. Wanting to be trained by Kamesennin also, he is told to join Goku in his task. Goku and Krillin find a girl (Ranchi) in trouble with the police and decided that she was the one they were looking for. Ranchi has two different personalities (a sweet innocent side and a dark side). She changes between the two by sneezing. They take her to Kamesennin who is very pleased with Goku and Krillin. Kamesennin then writes the word “turtle” on a rock and throws it into the jungle. And said they have 30 minutes to find it and bring it back to him. And the one that did gets to eat dinner while the other one watches. Krillin cheated and wrote turtle on a rock and brought it back to him. Kamesennin realizes it’s a fake and Krillin has to go out again. Goku found the real one and was on his way back to Kamesennin’s Island, but Krillin finds Goku and steals the rock. Krillin then returns to the island and is declared the winner.
The 21st Budoukai Tournament
The next day Goku hears about a tournament that will be held in 8 months. Where the greatest fighters compete to see who is the strongest. This tournament is called the 21 Tenkaichi Budoukai. Kamesennin tells Goku and Krillin that they will be training for the next 8 months with a 40-lbs. shell on their back. Kamesennin was proud of how strong they have become. And for the last month they were to train with an 80-lbs. shell on their backs. After the month had past Goku and Krillin get dressed and head of to the tournament. Goku and Krillin make it to the final 8 rounds. The first of which puts Krillin in a match against Bacterium (a dirty fighter). Bacterium uses his awful stench to win his matches. But Goku reminds Krillin that he doesn’t have a nose. And Krillin wins the match. The last match is between Goku and a monster named Gilan. Gilan thinks he has won when he traps Goku in his spit. But Goku is strong and breaks free and takes the win. In the next match Krillin and the martial arts master Jackie Chun go at it. Krillin knocks Jackie Chun out of the ring. But Jackie uses the kamehamaha to get back in the ring. The announcer goes crazy because he thinks Kamesennin is the only one that can do the kamehamaha. But now it looks like Jackie Chun is the second. But Yamcha thinks Jackie and Kamesennin are the same person. Jackie knocks Krillin out for the win. In the next match Goku is up against Namu. Goku strength and speed easily overcome Namu’s will to save his village. Jackie Chun gives Namu a rain capsle to halp out. Then shows him that he is Kamesennin. And asks Namu if he would go sit in the audience and pretend to Kamesennin so everyone thinks he is not in the tournament. He goes on to say that he enter the competition to prove to Goku and Krillin that no matter how strong they are there is always someone stronger than them. Namu agrees and fools everyone with he act. Even Yamcha believed Namu’s act. The final match puts Goku against Jackie Chun. Goku suggest that they have a kamehamaha contest, which he wins. As the match goes on Goku does everything Jackie does only better. Jackie realizing Goku is getting the upper hand decides to hypnotize him. Everyone thinks its over until Bulma yells Goku dinner, which wakes Goku up immediately. Jackie, getting desperate, does a lightning attack which stuns Goku. But Goku refuses to give up. Goku looks up at the sky and sees the full moon turning him into a giant ape. Jackie stunned because he didn’t know about this side of Goku. Goku stomps around causing the spectators to run for their lives. Jackie prepares to unleash a powerful kamehamaha. Everyone thinks he’s going to kill Goku, but instead he uses it to destroy the moon, turning Goku back to his normal self. Worn out Goku and Jackie agree to fight the rest of the match hand to hand. Goku seems to have the upper hand until Jackie leaps into the air to exchange kicks with Goku. Goku having the shorter legs takes the bigger impact. Both fighters are knock out for the 10 count. Jackie being the first one to get up is declared the winner of the 500,000 zeni and the title “The greatest Fighter in the World”. Goku goes off to find the seven dragon balls.

Goku enters and wins the money he needs to find Bulma, who will help him fix his broken dragon radar. Goku finds a police officer that takes him to Bulma. Bulma fixes the dragon radar and is amazed that he already has two dragon balls. Bulma decides to go with Goku on his next adventure. And they go off to find the next dragon ball. They soon realize the ball is at the bottom of the ocean. So Goku suggests they go to Kamesennin’s house to borrow a submarine capsule. When the two arrive at Kamesennin’s house, the old man mentions that Ranchi and Krillin are out but should be back shortly. In return for the sub, Kamesennin asks for Bulma’s height changing wristband. Krillin arrives at the island and decides to join Goku and Bulma on their quest. Blue Shogun, meanwhile, divides into two groups, one to follow Goku’s submarine and one to invade Kamesennin’s island to get the two dragon balls left at his hut. On Kamesennin’s island, Kamesennin and Ranchi easily defeat all the soldiers. Goku, Bulma and Krillin, while searching for the dragon balls, discover a cave. After narrowly escaping several boobie traps, Goku, Bulma and Krillin find a submarine port. They also find a guard robot, which greets them with a hail of bullets. Goku distracts the guard robot. As Krillin takes Bulma to safety down a passage, Blue follows them, changing the trail of arrows directed at Goku. Goku downs the robot but falls for Blue’s trick and takes the wrong passage. He falls down a trap door into a pool occupied by an octopus. Goku asks the octopus if he wants a treat. The octopus tells him “yes” and Goku gives the octopus a kamehamaha blast, turning him into calamari. Blue catches up to Krillin and Bulma, as they find the hidden treasure. Blue quickly claims the treasure for the Red Ribbon Army and knocks Krillin out for trying to stop him. Goku, finishing his octopus meal, hears a scream and hurries to see what is happening. The young hero arrives, saving both Krillin’s and Bulma’s lives by defeating Blue. As Krillin is recovering, Bulma tells Goku where the dragon ball is. Then he takes the dragon balls and leaves a time bomb, set to go off in five minutes. Blue takes off in his plane, but Goku frees himself and throws the bomb away. Goku then catches up to Blue, who crashes into a mountain a few miles away from a village. Arale, a villager, helps Goku by taking him to Senbe’s house to get the dragon radar fixed. Unable to pay, they have to fight her five fighters instead. Goku, Kirllin and Yamcha defeat the five fighters, one of whom is Gohan-san’s ghost. Goku asks Baba where the last dragon ball is, and Baba says it’s 200 miles from where they are, moving towards him. A big scuffle over the balls ensues between Goku, Pilaf, Shuu and Mei. Tamborine’s mission is to take out all the Tenkaichi-Buduoki, while Cymbol’s mission is to collect the remaining dragon balls. When Goku talks to a man named Yojirobee, Cymbol appears, apparantly looking to steal the guy’s dragon ball. Yojirobee pulls out his sword and defeats Cymbol, then sits down and starts eating the dead corpse. Piccolo senses the death of Cymbol and orders Tamborine to find out who killed Cymbol. Yojirobee tells Goku that he can kill Tamborine, but he wants to eat him. Tamborine, scared because he used his best attack on Goku but failed to kill him, tries to escape. Goku uses the kamehamaha to kill Tamborine, which shocks Piccolo even more. He tells Pilaf to take him to the place where Tamborine was killed, so he can see the killer for himself. Piccolo arrives and tells Goku to surrender the dragon ball. Goku refuses, then finds himself out-matched and on the verge of death. Goku asks Yojirobee to help him to Karin Tower after Piccolo leaves. Yojirobee then agrees to help. Chao-zu finds the fifth dragon ball on their quest to wish Krillin back.
