Distinguishing characteristics: The first thing anyone notices about Paul is his bright red hair. It’s quite the contrast against his pale skin. Bright brown eyes peer out through his long red bangs above his comely features. He could be described as androgynous as he is more pretty then handsome. He has a tight muscular body, which appears nicely slender under his clothes. As far as fashion sense he prefers comfort with a bit of dash. Such as designer jeans, topped by a button down shirt and at times a silk black tie.
Occupation: None.
Knows about any of the various Orders? No.
Any other languages: Thanks to his constant travels is fairly well versed in many different languages.
Personality: Paul is a playful, fun loving bloke. He enjoys a joke and a laugh, even at his own expense. He is extremely outgoing and has no problem just walking up to anyone at all. He can be a bit roguish and tends to mischievously tease others. His favourite targets are those he perceives need to loosen up a bit. He is not a fighter and prefers to talk it out over comes to blows. He is a lover not a fighter, you see. However if someone he values is in danger, he will bare his fangs and attack.
Any special skills?: As a vampire, Paul has the powers that are granted to the immortals. Such as rapid healing, high and far jumping, the ability to climb any surface, amazing sense of smell and inhuman strength. His primary talent is his extraordinary supernatural speed.
History: Paul was born premature in 1766 in one of the poorest most run down prostitute dens in all of London. The Madame who delivered him proclaimed him to small and weak to survive and suggested his mother just let him die before she became attached. His mother, Catriona, refused to listen and took him to her breast regardless. He managed to live through that first long night and even though at times it looked precarious he more or less survived those first critical days. When he was just 2 weeks old, his mother had no choice but to tie him to her chest with a shawl and go back to work walking the streets, as there was no other way to provide for them.
There she had a fatal encounter with a vampire; and Paul and her were briefly separated as she went through the process of becoming undead. When she awoke three days later, she found him again and somehow became even more attached to him then before. He reminded her of the life she had lost and she clung to her humanity through him. The orphanages in those days had a very low survival rate so Cat decided to raise him as normal as possible, with the help of her friend, Danielle.
So Paul grew up on the streets of London, dirt poor, because his status as a bastard son of a whore didn’t allow for much else. However he was completely happy despite his poverty, except for one quickly over incident. His mother became a midwife, but his label was one that was impossible to escape, even after the others had forgotten. He rarely went to school, preferring to hang around begging and playing with the other poor boys of his district. He didn’t learn to read until he was much older. He did receive vampire blood on the rare occasion when his mother strived to keep him alive as plague and pestilence repeatedly ravaged the children of London. This briefly stopped his aging but she was careful not to give him too much. She wanted nothing more then for her boy to grow into a man. Unfortunately it gave him a taste for both blood and the ghoulish lifestyle. It started him on his addiction.
When Paul turned 15, he began a campaign to convince his mother to turn him into a vampire. Up to killing his own father. His father had badly treated his mother and had deserved it. Still it was a decision that nearly broke his only son. Paul reasoned that the life of the undead would be the preferable way to live, only seeing the power and not cruel emptiness that went with it. When she refused, unable to kill her own child, he slit his own wrists on his 17th birthday and was near death when his mother found him. Unable to let her baby die, Cat turned him into what she was. Though that was a decision she would second-guess for the rest of her existence.
Now undead, morality removed, Paul found it easy to make money, in callous ways, such as preying on other’s love for each other, especially through blackmail and bribes for their life. Soon his mother and him were living in luxury, but Paul wasn’t happy. As a vampire he found that he felt very restless and out of sorts, as if something critical was missing from him. This agitated feeling led him to leave his home and go searching elsewhere for what it is he had lost.
Any Weapons (Pictures, URL of picture, sketches, and other renderings appreciated): Only the preternatural gifts that vampirism has bestowed upon him.
