~The Rules~

1. Profanity is allowed, but please do not use it just because you can. You do not need to swear to be effective. Same goes for sexual content. This is predominantly a PG-13 game, there is no need to make it XXX. Under certain circumstances (those pertaining to storyline and flow) some sex is allowed, but if you want to write sex scene after sex scene, please find another list.

2. Please do NOT kill, hurt or maim another person's character without their permission first. If you choose to have your character killed, you may create another, but please e-mail me (foxfeather@gmail.com) the information so I can keep an up to date bio and obituaries for the game.

3. Please do not become a friend, relative, or past lover of another person's character without their permission first. If your character has a past history with another please clear it through that character's player FIRST. This means BEFORE you send the character bio to foxfeather67@gmail.com for approval. If your character has a past with a character that is not taken in our game upon your subscription, then, if it is reasonable, it will be allowed and when that character is taken the new history will become canon for them.

4. At Dark Cove we all prefer longer posts with some thought behind them. It keeps your mailbox from being flooded with one line replies and makes the posts all the more readable and enjoyable for everyone. This is not the list for you if you are extremely protective over your characters. If you do not want people describing actions or even putting words in their mouths you may want to find another list. Just keep the other players' characters as true to their form when describing them.

5. Your character CANNOT be in two places at once. That should be self-explainitory.

6. This is a mere request, of courtesy. Please do not mail to the list requests to another person about their characters, or any attatchments. Please keep your posts text only, and do not use the list to promote your website. (This will be allowed in the signature portion of your post, or in the Dark Cove Yahoo! Club only!) We do not want to clog it up with posts.

7. Each person may have up to two (2) characters, either a pre-scripted one from the Cast of Characters Pages or one you create yourself. We will also allow other genres to trickle in as long as you can make them fit in with our game. You may have more then two (2) characters with the list owner's permisson, after a brief trial period with the list. For a complete list of characters click here. For ALL characters please fill out the information on the new character bio. It will allow me to get you up on the website faster. Please be creative though.

8. The age request here on Dark Cove is 18 and above. I have no way of enforcing it, but if you constantly send posts to the list that look like they have been written by a 4th grader and not spell checked consider yourself unsubbed after one warning.

(I am incredibly lenient about this rule, as I will go out of my way to help a struggling player who is having difficulty writing, but repeated examples of bad writing can result in being unsubbed. Please understand that the needs of the game and its dynamics come first!)

9. Please do not hesitate to E-mail me with questions, problems , general gripes and whatnot, I will always try to get back to you in a timely manner.

10. Any spell work must be pre-approved by the ST. I will tell you how long the spell will take and what the outcome should be off list.

11. If you want to start a thread, send invites to the people you want to play in it. Do not just expect them to jump in.

12. Send the ideas for your threads to us for approval. Some things just won't fly!

13. All characters must be approved by the Storyteller. No exceptions.

14. The only vampire characters currently allowed affiliation with the Sanguin de Christi in the game are Arianna De Morney (assassin) and Gillian (Acolyte). If your vampire is also a member of the Order you have to have a creative reason why and the expressed permission of the storyteller for approval.

15. To expand on the previous rule, all character submissions pertaining to membership in any of the various orders (save the Horde, as they encompass the evil supernatural forces in the game and are technically not an order) must be approved by the storyteller. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
