Personality: Ilyan is much more outgoing than either of his siblings. He's devoted to his family as his siblings but he's not the farmer that his brother is,or as content with the quiet life like Elena. But he knows that they need him so he stays willingly.
Ilyan's as skilled with fixing things as Elena is with music and Andros is growing things. He keeps the farm equipment and the vehicles running smooth, and hopes one day to start an auto repair business. The accident that claimed the lives of their parents put his dreams on hold.
Ilyan is much more in sync with Elena than Andros is. When the accident occured Ilyan didn't know exactly what was wrong with Elena but he had a nagging feeling that something was not right.

On the way home from visiting he and Ilyan at college, the car with their parents and Elena hit a patch of black ice and rolled down an embankment and crashing into a tree injuring everyone inside. Trapped in the car, Elena watched both her parents die before rescuers arrived.
