Wow.
*YAWN* ick, I haven't gotten much summer reading done. Anybody know for sure whether or not humanities people have to read things fall apart?

Yepyep, so I just got home from Caribou- I went to meat Chris and hear about Europe real quick, but then DD and Lauren V showed up :-D I'm soo glad I got to see them. It was a party!

[chris brags about going to the bahamas in january]
DD: yeah, well, I'll go there my senior year and have more fun than you!
Lauren: Road Trip!!!

Last night I had to go to the pool with my cousins to keep them happy, and after a super-quick shower Sean took me over to MP to play capture the flag with Meg, Cathy, David, Mark, Stern, Andrew, and Charles. They had already finished one game by the time I got there, and the second game just kind of fizzled when neither of the teams felt like playing anymore. lol... There was a bit of group nudity, as well, but don't ask about that. Everybody walked over to Charles's house- we played pool and watched TV and awed over the color-changing pool. It was a lot more fun than it sounds :-D

Yep- so I'm about to go to David's house for some movies, then go straight to band, then maybe back to David's. Woop!

Ahhh. Damn complications.

Meg's magic word!
Band Camp Pics are up- enjoy!

I went to megs and we watched analyze that- decent movie. Not much to say, so I'm off to bed :-)

Oh yeah... [after much deliberation over what movie to get]
Me: "We could get the Guru, it's supposed to be funny."
Meg: "eehhh..."
Me: "You know, where the Indian guy comes over and accidentally becomes a porn star."
Meg: "Yeah- we're getting that one." [orders movie]
It wouldn't load, if you were wondering- that's why we saw analyze that.

This one time at band camp...
Ahhhh... finally home. I slept until 1 this afternoon, it was beautiful.

Ack, there is sooo much to be said about the week that I hardly know where to start. eehhh... here are some quotes from camo :-P

Breakdancing lingo:
"Yo man, you got some deaf gear to rock"
"There go some fresh biddies around our way"
And of course:
"I'm feeling saucey, let's play through the whole show"-- All Mr. Blount

Jamie: "Boys suck. Let's just kick them and spit on them and run away."
Meg:"Or we could keep them in underground breeding chambers as 'necessary toys.'"
Me: "mmm, saucey."
Jamie: "We'll just keep them in boxes under our beds and whip 'em out when we get bored!"

"Oh my God! He's stalking me!!"
"Who?"
"GOD!"

"I'm getting a little tired of only having Jesus Charms for breakfast..."

Blount: "Come on now- stay off the beat. You're falling into the great abyss of groovelessness."
Tim: "You mean the great gaping abyss of whiteness!"
Liddy: "I am the great gaping abyss of whiteness." [nice tanlines, by the way, woody :-D]

Me: "Oh look, they have a Virginia lottery."
Emily: "We're in Virginia??"
Me: "Yeah... We've been in Virginia all week!"
Everyone in gas station: [scattered chuckling]

So I'm trying to think of what else to summarize... Well anyway, I was in the lovingly named Mexican room (triple-high bunks for eight people in a 12x12 room) as opposed to the Communist rooms (16 people in a huge room). Stern/David and Brad/Brett were in the Honeymoon Suites across the hall, which rocked out. It was nice, we were allowed in the rooms of the opposite sex and we only got taped into our rooms one night... Too bad that whole hall smelled like ass.

We got the entire opener on the field (44 tabooing sets!) and it is sooo freakin tiring. Meg and I keep switching which sections we march next too which means catapulting ourselves across the field on multiple occasions. M'Baaaauuuuu.

The music absolutely rocks- Mello parts kick ass (seeing as how we're so good and all- yay, meg!). Too bad our rookie ended up playing bass in the pit ("No, I'm serious. I have a bruise from sitting on my ass all week!")... Captions were definitely the best part of actual working time, especially on thursday when we had them instead of marching. We got to listen to all the originals of the music and did getting to know you games and whatnot.

I'll go through the week... Nothing exciting happened on Sunday except we got there. Monday was typical. Tuesday was fun, and we got a three hour break so we could go tubing. That was a lot of fun- Alex, Mark, Emily and I just held onto each other's tubes and took forever and a day to float down the river.

I dare say that Wednesday was close to being the best day of my entire life. I forget all the details... It started pouring rain at like 7:30 during our evening marching practice and it felt SO GOOD. We got a bunch done anyway... ahhh...

In the morning on thursday we had captions since the field was muddy, and in the afternoon I got the most progress on my band tan from hell. I'll post pictures later, it's scary. If I'm wearing a t-shirt and it covers my tank top/sports bra lines I'm really tabooing dark.

Friday was long, and Emily and I majorly embarrased ourselves on skit night- we sure surprised sam, though :-P Lisa/Meg/Cathy/Jamie/etc etc etc's skit was hilarious! I have to say, "Hope has sprung a perfect dive" has never applied more.

Saturday we went home... enough said. My cousins from Dallas are here which I totally forgot about...

Although it was the best band camp ever, I'm so glad to be home!

I'll start with yesterday- woot to the rookies, they were doing really well. During lunch Alex, Lisa, and I went to Jessica McClintock to look at dresses for the dance (very early, I know, but they're having a huge sale)- that was fun, but nothing fit. I think I'm shaped funny. I forgot most of the day... Anyway, we went to esat dessert at Caitlin's, at which point Sean and I decided to go see pirates of the carribean :-P Great movie, even the second time. I saw my rookie at the movies :-D

Today... umm... I woke up, went to band. We marched with instruments today, which is good for us but hurts really bad at the time you do it. I got fitted for new shoes, but there were no more order forms and the copy machine was broken. I ran over to the office to make more copies and on the way, a squirrel growled at me from inside a trashcan on the quad. I told a janitor, lol. For lunch Brad took some people to the Press Box (thanks for the ride :-P) and the food was pretty shitty. Fun time, though.

We got to have getting-to-know-you time with our sections outside in the rain, and that was just loads and loads of fun. We have cool people! ummm... we had to decorate our field markers and I got sick of wrapping mine in orange thread so I just wrote "ORANGE" on them. Soon I'm going to Mark's (now that I've spent like 20 minutes trying to put on make-up in such a way that mom doesn't notice my horrific sunburn) to watch the Godfather, see you soon!

I was really happy with my rookie :-D Yay for people from AG!

It was a little strange having Caitlin there... It seems so different, when my mom invites her over for dinner and she actually has to leave and go back to her own apartment, and when my friends have to call her Ms. Teter...

After dinner we went to Space Savers together to look for an over-the-door ironing board holder- it was cool, we talked and sich. As we were getting out of the car, mom called from the backyard across the street that she was taking care of the neighbor's dog and would be home in a second- Caitlin decided we should go jump on their trampoline, since dad had been jumping on it with the dog a few minutes before. It was soo much fun in that little kid way- we were taking turns bouncing each other and talking about 'back in the day' and it hit me; she's still my sister, just the same as always.

OMFG
It's called a music orgasm, and it starts in your spine. Right as that chord fits into place, you can feel the tingling start- with volume it creeps up, and with the rockin high brass glisses barely audible through the lower foundation, it shoots right to the top of your back until you're forced to shiver and your jaw drops. Ten extra points for overtones :-)

Nightbeat was amazing. Even without the marching (it was standstill due to rain) it was... it was... ack. I can't even begin to describe. I want to march with the Blue Devils sooo badly, or maybe Seattle Cascades! *shivers*

I can't wait.

Only four easy payments of 29.95!
It has come to my attention that my thighs/ass/sides are very very very sore. I've decided to turn jazz running into the next fitness craze... I'll call it the "8-minute Jazz Run workout, available on video casette or DVD! Firm up your thighs, buns, and calves with this amazing system. In just 8 painful minutes, you learn to balance and take steps the size of nothing known to man, all while getting the great body you dream of!" The logo will somehow incorporate a gazelle...

Ahhh, it's great though. Yay.
