In this episode, a good friend of the Kent family, Earl Jenkins was exposed into some chemicals from the Lex Corp. He gets the jitters and he couldn't control. He needed help when things got worse so he went to the factory where he used to work. The guard, who is also his good friend won't let him in. His jitters again happened while he was with the guard and accidently ended up killing the guard. Now that he is a wanted man, There is only one place to go for help, to the Kent Farm, where he used to work with Clark. That night, Clarks parents were out for their anniversary date. Since his parents were not home, he threw out a party over at his house. A party which he didn't planned or expected to be. While the party was happening, Whitney notice something moving at the barn. So he asked Clark to come and check it out. They found out that it was his friend, Earl. He told him what happened and that he was a wanted man. He soon was in jail. In the morning Clark and his father went to see their friend at the jail. He said that Lex Corp was responsible for what happened. When clark goes near him he gets weak. Yup! it's because of some green stuff in the man's body.

Clark and his class went for a field trip at the same factory where Earl used to work. This looks like a good time for Clark to investigate and find the secret room that his friend used to work at. At the same time, Mr. Jitters scaped out of jail to solve things in his own hands. He went to the factory where currently Clark and his Class are at. He uses Clark's classmates as hostages and then Clark became one himself. Lex Luther soon went inside to give the man a deal so he would let everybody out. Lex and Clark were left inside together with Earl. At the end of the show, Lex and Mr. Jitters were going to fall when Clark arrived and pull them both and saved them. This is the first time that someone notice that something is up with Clark. Lex believe at this point that his friend is hiding something.
