Alyeska Ski area in Girdwood


Polar Bear Divider Bar

Girdwood is located at the base of the Chugach Mountains near Turnagain Arm, 40 miles south of Anchorage off the Seward Highway. In the winter people come here to ski at Mt. Alyeska ski area, in the summer hikers, bikers and berry pickers rule. You can take the tram which climbs Mount Alyeska, it takes approximately 5 minutes to reach the top at 2,300 feet above sea level. Up here you have great views of the inlet, surrounding mountains and seven different glaciers.
