Dolphincraft

A drunk journeywoman...Faranth save us...
Hall's Lounge
Cozy to the point of downright stuffy this lounge exudes a salty briny air. Overstuffed and comfortable looking are the chairs of dark blue that reside at one end of this circular room. The smattering of tables that they surround are nothing more than tops with scarred wooden legs attached as well they should be. The bases of the tables and chairs are waterstained and marked by mild salt buildup. Rugs worn with age decorate the polished floor of this relaxation area soft greens and browns making barefeet swoon. Paintings of charts and various sea mammals and fish have been painstakingly added to the walls creating the atmosphere of their mother sea. To one side of the bridge is a wide ledge... [look closer]
Settled near the water is Terpsichore
Obvious exits:
Baths Men's Dorms Staff Hall Women's Dorms Infirmary Bridge Sea Lane

Mailli walks with slow and deliberate steps in from the Arched Bridge.

Mailli staggers in from the bridge and flops in a chair. She looks at Jess and giggles. That's right.. Mai has giggled, "Heya Jess," she call out her words all slurred.

Jessa stops her twirling, and /stares/ at her mentor. Did she just /giggle/. "Um, hi, Mailli." The senior appy peers at her mentor curiously. Has she lost it?

Mailli giggles at the confused look on Jessa's face, "Wacha doin?" again with the slurred speach. Enough to make one wonder about Mai's sobriety.

Jessa isn't wondering about Mai's sobriety anymore. She fully doubts that the journeyman even has any sobriety. "I'm twirling..." she says, continuing to peer at Mailli.

Mailli giggles as she stands and tries to twirl too. This of course leads to Mailli losing her balance and falling into a heap on the floor, "ish fun," she declares and giggles some more.

Jessa gapes at Mailli a moment, and then giggles as the mentor falls over. Now wait, aren't mentors supposed to be setting a good example for their mentees? Oy.

Mailli looks up through her red hair and just giggles. She seems, at the moment, unable to do little else.

Sarin meanders in from the Arched Bridge.

Jessa can do nothing but rather gape at the giggling and uncoordinated Mailli. Isn't her mentor supposed to be somewhat more ... dignified? Oooh, Srin, perhaps she'll save the day again. "Hi, Srin."

Sarin strolls in, sucking on a sweetstick. She raises her free hand in greeting and makes her way to a chair. The sweetstick is removed so that she can speak without obstruction, "Hello. What's going on?"

Mailli looks up at Sarin and waves, "Hia, Shrin," she says and starts to giggle, "Guess what?" Mailli doesn't really wait for an answer as she continues, "Im shtuck," she isn't really, but right now she doesn't seem to comprehend that.

Jessa casts a glance over at Mailli, and then shrugs. "Nothing much," she replies to Srin. the senior appy then goes and takes a seat. She'll twirl later. Yeah. Later.

Sarin peers at Mailli, tosses off a customary "Are you drunk or something?" And then, upon looking closer, the woman is forced to wonder whether that may in fact be the case. She sinks down into her chair and puts the sweet back between her lips for further consumption.

Mailli giggles some more, and in fact is drunk, "I dunno," she answers.. having never been drunk before, Mai has no way of judging.

Jessa grins at the reply of her mentor. Of course the journeyman is drunk. What other explanation is there? The senior appy looks around, then gets up to locate the tray of meatrolls. Always thinking about food. Always.

Mailli looks around and decides that sitting is much too much effort. Answer? Sink onto her side on the floor of course, where soon soft snores are heard coming from a person that has not been heard to snore before.

Sarin closes her eyes for a moment, whether to keep from cringing or cracking up is unclear. "How long has she been like this, Jessa? And have any impressionable apprentices seen here?"

Jessa is on the verge of cracking up herself. "I dunno, she just wandered in here not that long ago..." The senior apprentice hides a grin as the journeywoman simply passes out on the floor. Impressionable apprentices? Are there such things?

Sarin opens her eyes and shakes her head. "Oh my. We should probably get her to her bed or something... Aiee. Never thought I'd see /Mailli/ drunk. I wonder who's to blame..." Because someone must be to blame.

Mailli has disconnected.

Jessa nods her head, still trying not to laugh. Because it was rather silly seeing Mai, of all folks, drunk there. To blame? Probably Geraint... because the poor mentor-type of Jess hasn't had much happiness with her 'fasting and all.

Sarin sighs. "Maybe something's wrong. She doesn't strike me as the type to drown in liquor for kicks." Unlike other people Sarin has known in her day... Spotting a pair of muscular, studly young male apprentices, Sarin waves at them. "You two! Take Mailli to her room, and be careful with her!"

Jessa shrugs, "She's been kind of sad lately, though." And that's true. Jess' mentor has been telling her a few things, and has been sad. Jess even saw her start to cry once. Not to mention all that she complains about Seacliffs and Geraint.

Sarin watches the boys pick the journeywoman up carefully and depart. "They better not hit her head..." And a frown. "Sad? About what, if I could ask?"

Jessa also watches the departure of her passed out mentor. She shrugs at Srin, "Something about her brother, and how he died. And something about how her parents didn't love her." The senior appy really knows little about her mentor's past, just a few things.

Sarin winces and bites off a bit of her sweetstick. "Oh, dear. She had some troubles with her brother's death some time ago... I think he was called Shadis, so having a Shadis in the craft... I don't recall the details, but I hope she'll be ok."

Jessa nods, "Yeah, I think that's what she said." The senior appy is also somewhat concerned for her mentor, because she thinks her mentor's nice. And having depressed folks around the craft is no fun.

Sarin slumps down in her chair. "I hope she's all right." A sigh, and then she continues, "But. Anyway. How have you been?"

Jessa begins to munch on a meatroll from the tray that she relocated for easier access. "I've been fine." Indeed the senior appy has. Aside from the drunk mentor, all is well with Pern today.
