Rita and I were both born and raised in Nebraska.  And as so many people have learned, Nebraskans just do not leave the state behind them when they leave, but maintain close ties for a long, long time, often passed on to later generations.  The University's football team is the most visible rallying point, but believe it or not, there is more than that.

What is the significance of this place?  We went for a drive outside of Lincoln, Nebraska on one of our very early dates in 1965 and ended up here. And...family folklore has it that I am distantly related, by marriage to Daniel Freeman, the first homesteader.  I'm still working on that.
