Doll Details

About the dolls:
The bodies I use the most are 11 1/2 inch Doll bodies are by Jakks Pacific. If you have never seen a Jakks Pacific Doll you are in for a treat! The body texture is softer than a Barbie type doll. There are also unique details that other dolls do not have, visible ribs, belly button, shoulder blades, collar bones and tendons.
All color changes on face are done with high quality acrylics which are carefully applied and then sealed with a matte or satin varnish. Each face requires a steady hand and lots of patience. Faerie wings are lightly veined, laminated, singed, and wired for posability. Then they are permanently attached to the dolls torso.
Mermaid's whose tail is comprised of modelling paste are first securely taped into position so they hold their pose. After drying the plaster is sealed with varnish BEFORE color is bonded on. Then the color is resealed with varnish for a lasting finish. Some mermaids have a metal wire running down to their fin for ease in standing. Fabric mermaid tails are sewn shut for that skin tight look. Fins are almost always quilted fabric.
Clothing is made to suit each particular dolls coloring and attitude. Dresses, skirts, and tops are heat sealed for stability.
Most of my dolls have now have non-removable clothing. If changing outfits is important to you, please email me about this on the individual doll. Additional Pictures are available on request.

Clothing is available and includes directions for attachment to your own dolls. Mermaid tails must be hand stitched at the hips to close, about 1.5 inch. Faerie wings should be attached to the doll torso.

Each doll is a one of a kind design by Ande's OOAK Dolls. I am currently concentrating on mythical dolls. Come check me out.
