The RLSS (Royal Lifesaving
Society) was established in 1891 by William Henry to prevent loss of life
through drowning and asphyxiation. It is now the single largest lifesaving
organisation in the world with activity in over 40 countries.
Where
Does The Funding Come From?
With the exception of a
relatively small but much appreciated grant from the Sports Council of the
United Kingdom the Society is entirely self-financing and its critically
dependant on grant aid from trusts, corporate donations and
fundraising.
The same funding strategy
applies for CANVEY LIFEGUARDS RLSS the club
is entirely self financing and depends financially on the support of Local
Companies, Lifesavers, Lifeguards and the General Public.
Without their
help the club would not be able to provide the professional service
that it does today so we would like to take this opportunity to THANK all
those who over the years have kindly donated their time, money and
equipment to the club.
THANK
YOU!
