Um, ok,
we're waiting for my report? What report? Do you mean the 4 am report? Well, ok,
I hope so, here goes:
After everyone was kicked out of the bar at the hotel, I briefly went back to my
room, but was still wide awake. (I'm sure it had nothing to do with seeing
Alexei, seeing Julie's new keepership, getting another picture taken with Alexei,
etc., lol).
I went downstairs to the front desk to get some Canadian quarters so I could go
outside and get the early edition of the paper. I had to wait because there was
already a man standing there being waited on. While I stood there, I heard a
rolling sound.
It sounded like a luggage cart being pushed, and I looked over to the right of
me, wondering who could possibly be checking in or out at this hour. When I
looked over, all I saw was the top of the luggage cart moving around in circles.
I didn't see anyone pushing it.
Looking down towards the floor, I realized how it was moving. Alexei was sitting
on it, and he was scooting his feet around to make it go in circles. He looked
really bored; I guess that goes without saying!
Apparently he was waiting for whoever was getting something at the front desk.
This other person was one of those unidentified skating dudes that you know is
somehow a skating person, but you don't know who they are or what they do. lol
Well, anyway, I was a bit surprised to see Alexei scooting around on the luggage
cart.
It was especially cute because the cart was so low to the ground, and Alexei
looked like a little boy sitting there, turning the cart around and around. (Ok,
a gorgeous, hunky, manly little boy, but I digress....) Alexei noticed that I
caught him spinning around on the cart, and seemed a little embarrassed about
it, actually. I don't think he knew anyone else was down there. When he saw that
I saw him, he got up from the cart. I smiled at him to let him know I didn't
think it was totally weird that he did that, but I think he was still a bit
embarrassed.
I wonder if he was worried that it would be in the next day's paper, or
something! LOL He wouldn't have needed to worry about that, though, because the
media coverage of the event was mostly on the Canadian skaters, and Alexei
might've streaked through the lobby without getting a mention in the papers.
(OK, now I am just wishing aloud......)
Plus, Alexei definitely knows I am a fan and not media!
When the USD (unidentified skating dude) got finished being waited on, he and
Alexei left. I remember thinking it was funny that Alexei was the one who got
embarrassed. Normally if I see a skater, I end up being embarrassed about
something I did in front of them, not the other way around!
If I am allowed to claim such things, I want to be the keeper of Alexei's
luggage-cart spin (the speed of it needs work but the form is quite nice... I
give it a 5.7 for now). BTW, I hope this is the story I was supposed to post.
Laurie and Julie let me know! (And Klara, too, if you know what it was I was
supposed to post about!)
