The Exhibitions!

I must say that I definitely prefer attending a live figure skating competition to a chance at attending a show. I guess one of the more obvious reasons is that there is simply much more skating to watch. It seemed that almost any time we wanted to watching skating, it was available.

As Laurie and Kim have both stated, it was almost odd to get on the elevator without a skater or coach. It was rough, really.

Most of the skaters were very friendly, especially if you let them maintain their space. Usually returning a smile and saying "Hi".

I was able to share the elevator with an American pairs skater Weiss, who was very pleasant to talk to. At first he just smiled and then when he realized that I wasn't going to bother him.....he chatted the whole trip down to the lobby. It was great to get his impression of his first SA. I hope they have a successful career.

It was wonderful to finally see Alexei in person. Not to mention the fantastic skating.

He was so nice to the little ones. He signed so many autographs and took countless pictures. He seemed tireless and very gracious.

I was thrilled to be able to give him a gift that I took, he was wonderful.
