Mitsubisi Pajero
It's getting harder and harder to say this but I still think the Pajero is the best of the mid-sized four wheel drives for all round purposes. It's comfortable and a strong performer in city and highway use and rugged and versatile in off-highway conditions. There is the added advantage of wide model range to choose from and at almost reasonable prices. The short wheel base model is fun - a kind of sporty car four wheel drive while the LWB is a family wagon and tourer - with any engine choice.
