Cloudy, with a bit of rain.
Today was pretty good. I managed to get up at a fairly reasonable time and watched The Sopranos. I really like that show. The writing is good and the characters are very interesting. You never know who's going to survive each episode.
I was about to start my lunch preparations in the early afternoon, when my cell phone rang. My student cancelled her class. That was my first one of the day, and it was a bit nice for me! I'm still not feeling that well, and I was worried about staying at the school all that time with not too much to do. I stayed home for a while instead.
I got a double shot of CSI this afternoon, and it was quite interesting. A team member was kidnapped and buried in a box. He'd die unless the team found him. I enjoyed it. I thought there were shades of Kill Bill about it, but then I found out that Quentin Tarantino directed it. (I didn't see if he directed the first episode, but I know he did the second one.)
I went to the school and set up. I checked the student's lesson and prepared some paperwork too. When he came we had an okay lesson. Not terrific, but okay. My next lesson went much better. I started out with a word quiz. It was a bit challenging for the student. She's incredibly busy these days and isn't really in the right headspace for it, but it worked I think. I think it took her out of her busyness. Once she got into the swing of it, she enjoyed the quiz.
After classes, I finished my paperwork, and prepped for tomorrow's first lesson. I'm never sure how much time I'll have on Saturdays. Fumihiko came and picked me up. We made a brief stop at the grocery store to buy me a box of lotion tissues. My cold has moved into the coughing and runny nose phase. So charming. Oh, and to make matters really peachy keen, I even have gunk coming out of one of my eyes. So gross.
At home Fumihiko busied himself in the kitchen. He wouldn't even let me set the table. He made miso soup, grilled fish, fried pork chops, and opened a salad. Everything he made was really good. It was nice to be treated for a change. He even did the dishes afterwards!
In the rest of the evening, I surfed the net, read email, and set the VCR to tape The 4400. It should be on in a bit. I've heard about it, but never seen it.
That's about it. I'm getting to the stage where I want to take some medicine very desperately, but at this time of night I can only take the nighttime medicine. It usually puts me to sleep, so I don't want to take it yet. However, I think I'd better go to bed soon anyway. Hubby is off work tomorrow and we have a party to go to in the evening, so I need my beauty sleep!
