October 29, 2001 - Monday

I got up around 8:00 this morning and started reading more of my book. It's great and I'm really enjoying it.

I finally got up around 9:30, did a bit of internet stuff and had breakfast. Then I had the difficult decision about what to wear. I was riding a bike so I wanted to be well dressed for that, but at the same time, I wanted to look nice. I settled on a nice shirt, casual pants, and my new coat. However, my new coat is a bit hot for riding, so I wore something else and packed my coat.

I got to city hall, then changed into my coat, much to the bemusement of a policeman that was nearby! I walked over to the entrance and waited for Naomi. I didn't have to wait long, and I jumped into her car.

The first place we decided to go to was closed, so I suggested going to Paris Cinq, a French restaurant I went to years ago with Taeko and Hitomi. It was a good idea, she liked it and so we went!

The food was good and the conversation was great. We had chicken with cheese, which also came with soup, salad, coffee and dessert. I hadn't seen Naomi since my wedding and hadn't been able to talk to her for a long time before that, so it was nice. After, she invited me to meet with her business partner, so we did, and had tea.

She drove me back to city hall and I decided to bike to the main post office and try to use my new card to put some money in my account. Unfortunately, I couldn't really figure out how to do it. I wanted to deposit coins, but maybe the machine didn't accept coins. Sigh. After that, I biked to my apartment, and tried to make it feel more like my apartment.

I unwrapped the futon, and checked that everything was in order. I also took down a few of Gabrielle's posters. (Sorry, but I don't like Lenny Kravitz!) Then I sat down and read to myself for a while. It was nice, and the apartment started to feel like my apartment after that.

I came home after I realized that it was dark out and Fumihiko would be home soon. It was a bit hairy riding home as it was full on rush hour and the traffic was scary. Still, I made it, after a bit of walking and a lot of swearing!

At home I didn't have long to wait until my hubby came home and then I made garlic toast. I don't think his mother really understood what I was doing, but I think she liked the way it tasted!

After supper I watched a silly Japanese game show. It's silly, but not as bad as some things on TV and then I came upstairs and wrote this entry. Don't know when I'll go to bed tonight. Probably after bath time though.

Tomorrow, I'm back to work. Sigh. It's too bad. I wish I didn't have to work! Oh to be independently wealthy!

Anyway, talk to you later! Bye bye!
