Furnace Creek Ranch is the hub of the Valley. It’s very crowded, but has a lot of history for you to examine. Nearby is the Timbisha Shoshone (Show-show-nee) tribe settlement. Pay your respects and leave. |

This is the palm- and water-garden at the Furnace Creek Inn, a stately old hotel. The Tunnel entrance is interesting, but the garden is the most pleasant and least crowded place in the valley, especially on a warm day. It's a peaceful place to meditate. |
