Number of times on the CA AIDS Ride:Last years CA AIDS Ride 5 was my first time experiencing the ride. I signed up
again for CAR 6 since I had such a great experience on CAR 5 meeting so many great people.
Number of flats on CAR 5: Oh I would say 10, easy. Yes really! I had found out on the 6th day of the ride that I needed to replace my
rim tape on my front wheel, the spokes had been going through the tape and puncturing the tires. I had been averaging 2-3 flats
a day. After I replaced the tape, no more flats!
Things I picked up while on the ride:New friends, new CAR jersey, some wicked road rash on my arm from dumping my bike the second day of the
ride on a windy stretch of road, saddle sores, stronger legs from climbing those never ending hills, a incredible life experience that I will be able to
talk about for the rest of my life.
