* Why the new desert theme? Easy.... I LOVE driving through the deserts of the Southwestern USA, especially if my "Joshua Tree" CD is nice and loud. Zzyzx Road, just in case you didn't know, is an actual exit off Interstate 15, just a few miles south of Baker, California (the ultimate truck stop, and home of the world's tallest thermometer). Zzyzx Road exemplifies the desert culture perfectly, as it exists in the middle of nowhere, doesn't really seem to lead anywhere, but still has a certain beauty to it. More on desert stuff later....

* I just finished serving as president of the SDSU Circle K club... it was a lot of hard work (harder than I had anticipated!), but the experience was positive and I'm pleased that the club is still in good hands. I hope to attend the Circle K International Convention this summer in Orlando, Florida, but after that, I don't know how I'm going to stay involved. One thing is certain, though: I'm going to stay involved. :)

(December 1999) This is me with Chrissy Tanoura, just about the nicest person I know! (I'm not wearing makeup - it just looks that way.) I went to a Christmas project for Whittier College Circle K, and we took this photo while I was up there. If anyone exemplifies what a Circle K'er should be, it's Chrissy.
