Timmy!
(April 2000) On the left is Tim Hossain, Governor of the Pacific Northwest District (PNW). Tim and I have known each other for nearly two years -- although he's hard to find, since he always hides on AOL! Tim is a great guy, though, always willing to help out a friend in need. Tim lives in Bellingham, Washington - a wonderful little seaside town between Vancouver (Canada) and Seattle. I was there in 1992 or so.
Churro playing Pool
(March 2000) Arturo Baez, Jr. (a.k.a. "Churro") from the Circle K club of Cal State Dominguez Hills plays some pool at the 2000 District Convention. Convention was a ton of fun -- although this is nothing unusual; conventions are always exciting! My favorite Convention was the 1998 International Convention in Ocho Rios, Jamaica... for obvious reasons!
Christmas Tree Lot
(December 2000) Here's John Chandler, Hal Black, and (my dentist) Dr. Doug Grosmark of the Kiwanis Club of Grantville-Allied Gardens. They're setting up a tree for the Christmas Tree Lot - the biggest fundraiser of the year. I personally put in over forty service hours at the tree lot in 2000 alone... although I've been working there every year since the early 1990's. The blue pickup truck in the background (far right) belongs to John Chandler, and we use it to deliver trees. It caused us a few problems this year. I had to wait for over forty minutes at a stranger's house one day for AAA to arrive since the truck's battery wouldn't start!
