the middle-class predisposition: Predisposed, by its two-fold opposition to both the working classes and the dominant (ruling) classes of any society, to serve the maintenance of the moral, cultural and political order, the petty-bourgeoisie (middle-class businessman) is condemned by that societal division of labor to serve zealously in the subordinate and middle-rank posts of the societal bureaucracies responsible for maintaining order, whether by inculcating order or by calling to order those who have not internalized it, i.e., societal miscreants and deviants.
