So instead of working on senior project stuff all day, or writing my grandma or sending Meghan, as I had needed to do, I spent about, oh, 8-10 downstairs watching tv and crocheting. (The scarf ended up being about the same since I had to pull twice and got very stuck on undoing on stitch). And I also accepted an invitation to go over to Nick and Joe's for sushi tomorrow at 3. Why 3 I have no idea. Dr. Morrison is not going to be happy with me on Monday. Oy vey, not at all. *sigh* Why is it so impossible for me to get anything done on the weekend?

In about an hour and a half it will be mine. Assuming of course that no one else places a bid but if the two people who bid before me haven't bid again yet, I don't think they will.

I've loved this movie since I was 8 and that was before I got all of the jokes. I was watching it on TV the other day and realized that they cut out some funny stuff (Mrs. White kneeing Mr. Body in the groin and the drawing of lots for example). Then I decided that instead of just renting it (with a posibility of the store not carrying it), I would just buy it. Cause it's a great movie that I know I'll watch again. Or whenever I need a good laugh.

I find in amusing that I saw three of my friends in transit today. I first saw Bridget waiting for the light on her bike while I was on the bus turning right. Then as the bus was pulling up to the Cal Poly stop, I saw Leigh walking in after skating to school today. And then coming home in the Escort Van, we were behind Kathryn on Murray but we turned right (illegally) while she went straight. Since I was dropped off in the main lot, I decided to get the mail and then saw Kathryn pull in. I hustled slightly and we ended up getting to the door at the same time. It was kind of funny actually, she had gotten mail and once I saw her head on the stairs coming up from the carport, I reached her mail over and said "your mail madam'moisle" (or however it's spelt, I took Spanish not French). It kind of startled her.

The reason we arrived at the same time instead of me much later was because I came home early because I could just not get myself to study for my Anthropology midterm that I have tomorrow. I need to just make sure I leave work at 10 tomorrow and spend 10-12 reading over my notes again. Fortunately the test is multiple guess so I'm not too concerned.

I also need to try to get out of the house early to drop my sweater off at the dry cleaners again. I told them about the stain but they didn't get it out (yes, I looked for the first time nearly a week later). Usually when they can't get the stain out they tell you on pickup, right? I don't think the guy I turned it into made note of it when he said he would. I still have my receipt fortunately. Well at least I learned my lesson about taking stains into the cleaners: make sure they do something to note that there's a stain, and to check the garmet before exiting the store. I really hope this stain comes out. I only wore the top once for like 7 hours at absolute max. And I have no idea what got onto it. At least the stain's not too big and if I adjust the neck and my hair just right, my hair covers it but that's assuming my hair's down which it's usually not during school. I'll work it out.

Tomorrow is Gianna's birthday and Bridget is trying to organize going to Spike's for Taco Tuesday at 8 with a possible appearance at pint night after (pass!). The good news is that since I have to take my Anthro test early, I don't have my class til 7 so I could totally make it. The bad news is that I'm still a bit sick. I'd hate to give Gianna my cold for her birthday. I'll have to see how I feel tomorrow. Cause I want to go.

Perhaps I'm rare in this thinking, but if I received three notices of some system I use constantly was being changed, I would read the notice over carefully and pay special attention to part of how it would affect me.

Cal Poly's calendar server was upgraded over the weekend to the Oracle system. The PolyComm sent out a few e-mail notices of when this was going to change and how it would affect the users directly. Somehow most of the people who got those e-mails read the part about the conversion and having to change their password (which wasn't necessarily true by the way) but missed the part about the username changing from their full name to their e-mail address.

This made work very crazy this morning. Apparently, the staff members came in early and started fielding calls around 7am or so. Jim asked Matt to come in and help in the morning and Matt was already helping someone at the window when I came in. Good thing Jim asked him to come in because Michelle overslept until like 8:40 and then had class at 9. Annie arrived at her usual time of 8:18ish. When I got in, I glanced over the documentation at the workstation quickly (I had read it the night before when Terri sent an e-mail to all of us) and then decided to check voicemail. There was already like 10 messages when I tried to check it. I say tried because I kept having to hang up in the middle of the first message to answer the phone. On my third attempt, there were 20 messages but I was able to get through the first one. I decided to do a "one message at a time" appoach instead of trying to listen through all of the messages at once. A few of the people I called back either kept calling and got through and fixed their problem or called someone else and figured it out.

I made one attempt at looking at the Remedy queue but that was at like 10:45 and then the phone rang. I did notice that we had 40+ tickets in there though. At least 5 of which were submitted by users as "medium" priority with log in problems. And the forms and account info that was in the bin? Forget, I didn't even get a chance to really look. I noticed some password management for account creation in the queue but I just couldn't get to them. I did do some forms but they were hand delivered or came fresh off the fax.

Add on top of all of this a stuffy nose, a cough and a sore throat. Yeah talking on the phone for 3 hours is not a smart thing to do. And had it been almost any other day, I probably could have asked the other people there if they could get the phone first. Thank goodness for cough drops. Hopefuly tomorrow all this calendar craziness will die down and we can work on all the e-mails we undoubtably received today but just couldn't get to and work through the queue. And hopefully my throat will feel better. *sigh* Hopefully.

I have? Well I'm going to mention it again. I hate being sick. I hate needing to keep a box of tissues by my side and going through a box every 24 hours. I hate how my nose is now so raw, it hurts to use the tissue. I hate how dry my lips have gotten and that I can't find my chapstick. I hate how my throat hurts. I hate how the congestion also gets to my ears. I hate how it makes me want to stay in bed all day and do nothing. Oh wait, I always have that feeling on the weekend. Okay scratch that one.

I suppose I should be grateful that I don't have a fever.

Just got back from the WPE. It went okay I suppose. It would have been better if I didn't have to wipe my nose every other minute. The topic was about the "gap year" that more high school seniors are taking before college and if it benefits the students.
I said that it didn't because there's a chance they skip college altogether and then they are limited when their life falls apart later. And the main reason to take the year off was travel which you can just do by studying abroad. Somehow I managed to write 5 short paragraphs. No clue if it was long enough as I only had written on about 2.5 pages and they were saying that it should be about 3 pages. *sigh* Please, please please let me pass.

I think I can officially say that I'm sick. I was trying to convince myself that it was allergies yesterday but my allergies don't get this bad. Conjested and a slightly sore throat. And all this the day before the graduation dependent bullshit promoting WPE. So you all can except a lovely rant about that tomorrow afternoon or late night.

I think I'm starting to miss the cold weather. Or the lack of humidity I guess. I mean at least in the cold, I could sit in my room and not sweat. So I guess when it's a day that goes above 70, my apartment is a sauna. Falling asleep should be fun...

I would put "drop off dry cleaning" on there except I doubt they're open. I meant to do that Friday. Then on Saturday and then today. But there's something about just lounging in one's PJs all day that is totally attractive.
