ESSEMTEE Online Movies 2002

Movies viewed on the big screen since January 2002:
This is NOT the only film review site on the net that includes the endings! (I checked, there are at least two well-known ones that are quite easy to find.)
Of course if you've already seen the films, you've got nothing to worry about! Thing is, you have have to look at the list to know which ones you have or haven't seen! ; )
1996 | 1997 | 1998 | 1999 | 2000 | 2001 | 2002
- 2002 -
Beauty And The Beast - Who's doing the voices: Paige O' Hara, Robby Benson, Jerry Orbach.
The Tenth Anniversary Special Edition of this Disney animated "tale as old as time" goes all out with an IMAX giant screen presentation.
Ending: Let's see, the beast remains a beast, the heroine goes home and... oh come on, it's Disney! What do you think happens?
Best scene: The newly animated rousing song/dance number Human Again, originally seen and heard only in the stage version.
Amélie - Who's in it: Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz.
Delightful gem from France about a shy, lonely young woman who sets out to do good deeds for those who live and work around her... in the most bizarre ways. Wildly imaginative and utterly charming!
Ending: After having made other people feel special, Amélie decides it's time to finally help herself.
Best scene: More like 'scenes.' The chalk arrows, the garden gnome in the polaroids, the photo ID album, the 15 women (especially that scene!), the grocer's apartment, the Zorro costume, I could go on and on...
Ice Age - Who's doing the voices: Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary.
A grumpy woolly mammoth, a talkative sloth, and a sabretooth tiger set out on a road trip to save a cute lil infant.
Ending: A hilarious final look at one of the movie's less-talkative characters, a rat(?) named Skrat.
Best scene: The slide ride inside a giant iceberg!
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial - Who's in it: Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, Drew Barrymore.
The touching story of the lovable alien and the young boy who finds and befriends him. And there's a new bathtub scene, courtesy of ILM and their computer-animated wizardry.
Ending: E.T.'s ship comes back and takes him home... oh, like you haven't seen this movie at some point in your life!
Best scene: Gotta love those kids on their flying BMX bikes!
Spider-Man - Who's in it: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe.
The wallcrawling hero finally gets the big-screen treatment, and it's done just right.
Ending: We see Spidey swinging through the crowded streets of Manhattan one last time... until the sequel, of course!
Best scene: Okay, compare the scene where ol' Webslinger saves Mary Jane "MJ" Watson's life for the first time... it's identical to a scene in the movie Superman!
Star Wars - Episode II: Attack Of The Clones - Who's in it: Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman.
The Empire takes shape with a vast clone army. Young Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker falls in love with Padme Amidala, and falls prey to the Dark Side of the Force.
Ending: The secret wedding of Anakin and Amidala.
Best scene: Yoda layeth the smack-down with his green lightsaber!
Austin Powers in: Goldmember - Who's in it: Mike Myers, Beyonce Knowles, Michael Caine.
Austin, Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard, Mini-Me, Number 2, Foxxy Cleopatra, and the aptly named 'Goldmember.' They're all here with an astonishing number of cameos and hilarious potty jokes.
Ending: Dr. Evil's son Scott takes over the family business of being - well, evil!
Best scene: Britney Spears shows up early in the movie, reveals herself as a Fem-bot... and explodes.
The Ring - Who's in it: Naomi Watts, Brian Cox, Daveigh Chase.
A strange videotape finds its way into Naomi's, er, possession. A videotape that mysteriously kills the viewer seven days after having watched it. Creeeeepy! Full of false endings too.
Ending: The seventh day comes... and goes.
Best scene: Seeing the video itself, whoa!!
The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers - Who's in it: Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Miranda Otto, Andy Serkis.
The Fellowship, formed in the first movie, are split up and must fight their own battles. Some battles are internal, but most are huge, HUGE battles against literally tens of thousands of deadly soldiers.
Ending: Hobbits Frodo and Samwise, led by the schizophrenic imp Gollum, are 'thisclose' to reaching their final destination... then the movie ends!
Best scene: Ohh I dunno, the battle against tens of thousands of deadly soldiers, perhaps?
Chicago - Who's in it: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere.
The musical gets the film treatment as murderess Roxie Hart (Zellweger) gets advice from Velma Kelly (Zeta-Jones) on how to get out of exectution by hiring lawyer Billy Flynn (Gere). The rousing musical numbers are actually dream sequences, intercut with the storyline. Pretty clever!
Ending: Roxie and Velma turn their catty ways into a double act that gets them the fame they craved all along.
Best scene: Whichever musical number you prefer, and there are lot of 'em!
