BRIDGE BURNER RECORDS!
News
and Gossip
As
you may have heard we released a 10 band compilation CD which
charted on several college stations in Canada.
Bridgeburner
also released Hissy Fits "Ugly, Like Me" CD which was
No. 3 on the Canadian college charts. Hissy
Fit embarked on a three week tour of Canada and played
many successful, rocking shows. Following the tour,
original members Scott and Rich decided that they couldn't
maintain the breakneck Hissy Fit pace and stepped down.
Rich was quickly replaced by Dave, who rocks. Scott has
proven harder to replace, but no fear, Terry and Gisele will
find someone and find them fast. Visit their web page for
photos and such.
Mothertrucker
continues unhindered in their quest. I'm not sure what
their quest is, but they continue. The band puts on a
stellar show about once a month in Vancouver and if you don't
live here, odds are, you probably will never have the pleasure
of viewing the trucker. Lead singer Adina recently crafted
her own tassled "Ozzy" style shirt and is currently
the object of much envy in the local Rock scene.
Blammo
decided to take a rest for awhile. Things spun out of
control, 8 egos was too much for one small rehearsal
space. Seven out of eight members are hoping for a
reunion, the single hold out must eventually succumb to the
pressure.
Speaking
of egos, Ted also is taking a well
deserved rest. Seems a certain member of the band felt the
need for an extended vacation. No word on a reunion, but
the other members of Ted are keeping busy with their side
projects - DOA and the Real Mackenzies.
JP5
signed a deal with Sudden Death records and released an album
entitled "Hotbox". The band toured Canada and
also played several shows in the US, including (I think) SXSE.
JP5 is currently relaxing at home and gathering up energy for
their next explosion.
Jessie's
Girl continues to rock and roll. The band released
a full length CD earlier this year and it rules. Original
member Fisher Rose decided to take a break and was replaced by
Mike. I didn't think it would be possible to replace Fish,
but Mike is a damn fine drummer.
Celestial
Magenta also lost their original member. The band
has also decided to write for the radio, sad but true.
Don't
know what's up with Treecrusher.
I haven't seen them play in a long time, but that doesn't mean
anything. I'm sure their still rocking. I also know
nothing of the Cartels, sorry
I'm not the hipster I once was.
Ani
Kyd continues to do her solo thing and do it well.
She's got a damn fine voice and you should go see her
live. But then you should go see everyone live, cause you
never know, they might just knock your socks off.
