Well, some people might be wondering why I have decided to make a web page...that's a good question. This is basically, so people can get to know what an insane person I can be. :) Well, let me start by telling you something about me...my "real" name is Amber, I live in California. Some people have been asking me if I have a picture online....the truth is YES! NOW I DO!!! Finally, after bugging my roommate to hook his scanner back up, he has done it! I've been having fun scanning my own pictures...but the only problem is that all the stuff I scan is going to be in black and white. Well, since pictures on the internet aren't going to allow mw to look my absolute best, I will also describe myself for those of you who don't live by the saying "A picture means a thousand words"...I'm tall, about 5'10", right now I have short, spikey bleached hair (though that will probably have changed by the time you read this), and hazel eyes... and I do plan on marrying Tim Armstrong...hahaha...just kidding. Yeah, not to meantion the fact that he's already married :(
Actually...that's the boring part of information about me. Now, if you're still reading (what's wrong with you? ;))I can tell you some other completely useless information! YAY! I think I'll start with things I like to do..to start off with...I love music. Punk and Ska music is what I listen to the most, but I really love almost all types of music. My favorite bands are Rancid...obviously, Operation Ivy, The Suicide Machines, Link 80, The Criminals, The Clash, STRAY CATS, Dance Hall Crashers, Swingin' Utters, Green Day, The Gadjits, The Smugglers, Save Ferris, Hi-Fives, The Slackers, NoFX, AFI, Klown Skool Dropouts, The Queers, The Beatles (one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands in history), The Cure, Counting Crows, The Eagles, The Police, Jewel, The Eurythmics (and Annie Lennox), Elvis Costello and the Attractions and about 90 million other bands. I spend a lot of my free time hanging out with friends turning off power to nameless department stores, going to Denny's at midnight (and any other completely random time), singing karaoke at TIME OUT every Wednesday and Sunday night, getting lost in San Francisco, going to Berkeley and giving all my change away to gutter punks, going to shows at Gilman (or wherever there happens to be a good show), calling Henry's Hallucination BBS, reading Dave Barry, having bonfires on Ocean Beach, driving around with my best friend "Grillface" making movies, and writing run-on sentences! As you can see, I do have a pretty busy life...especially the run-on sentences! Whew, I'm tired! ;)
Now as for what I do when I'm not going out and having fun...it's not a whole lot. I work at Red Robin...woo hoo! Yes, it sounds more exciting than it is. I'm saving up so that I can go back to school to become a recording engineer, so the working now isn't so bad.
This is something sad that I experienced this week (September 20, 1997)....someone I really admired, Nicholas John Steel Traina died. He was the lead singer of a berkeley-based punk band called Link 80. For more information on either Link 80 or some thoughts and feelings I've had about the death of Nick Traina go here
