Summary
When a man named Kuppke checks into his hotel room, he sees something he shouldn't and is murdered by professional killers in Vienna for business. His body is dumped in the river and the detectives of homicide are called in to investigate. Böck and Höllerer are taking turns to look after the grieving Rex but there's a new Inspector on the team. Will Brandtner and Rex be able to help each other?

The Good
Each of the Inspectors does what they can to cheer Rex up - Böck's desperate and Höllerer's sadly resigned. Brandtner (the Dog-Whisperer) has some really good scenes where he and Rex get to know each other. Brandtner has an experience with working with dogs that fits well into the series. His backstory is also pretty interesting.

The Bad
There are a few scenes that seem added specifically to make the audience 'like' the new character - he dives off a jetty, jumps out of a plane etc. This isn't necessary as Brandtner has a good relationship with Rex and he's already a likeable character.

Disclaimer : Kommissar Rex is owned by Mungo film, Tauris film, SAT.1 and ORF and was created by Peter Hajek and Peter Moser. None of the characters, actors or photographs belong to me, unfortunately. I'm just borrowing them, having a bit of fun and then returning them more or less unharmed.
