Brian woke in the bathtub to the sound of Nick and one of the guys banging on the door. "Open up Brian everyone but you and Nick are dressed. Quit being lazy, next time sleep in your bed." He got up, opened the door, and said "I was in here first, Nick, so if you don't mind I'm gonna take a shower" Before Nick could come up with a comeback the water was on "Sorry man, it happens to the worst of us." Kevin said and went to go talk to the rest of the guys.
By the time Brian finished showering, Nick had twenty minutes-not enough to take a good shower. "Man I should do that more often so I don't have to wait." Bri was downstairs before Nick got out. Nick asked himself why he ever even offered to share a room with that jerk of friend. Lazy and still gets ready first.
In the lobby
"Hey slow poke it's about time," they all said in unison. "Heh you talk!" "You know what? You should try to sleep in the bathroom from now on buddy." AJ made an effort to say "Shut up!" the guys had joked with Nick for 15 minutes. They got so carried away they didn't realize Jamie never came down. It got close to time to leave and AJ had noticed not only Kevin had gone but so had Jamie and made that a note and said "Hey guys where did Kevin go and did Jamie come down?" all but Brian shook there heads. Howie noticed Kev but where was Jamie? "Hey Kev, man, where's Jamie," he didn't say anything. he had a note in his hands "C'mon guys." He shouted and headed towards the door "But Kevin, Jamie's gonna come isn't she?" Kevin shook his head. "Jamie, nah man she's…well, I talked to her last night because when I was outside in the hall talking to Kristin I heard her crying and Kris wanted me to talk to her and Jamie said she didn't know if she was gonna come because she needed to talk to her Mom and she said she'd catch up later, but when I went to ask her if she wanted anything she was sleeping," he lied. "Oh" Brian said but know else said a word. "Yeah she had said that last night," he lied too.
In the Bus
They all were silent. Brian felt Kevin tap him on the shoulder and said "Brian, honestly did she really say that?" No" he admitted "Hey man she didn't mention she was gonna go to her mom's but she did tell me what happen last night, do you want talk to me?" "No" "She said also that you didn't want to reason you wouldn't let her explain" he said with a little sadness in his eye "She left" he said fast enough not for Brian to figure it out. "What!" "Nothing she told me to share this with you." "Alright what does it say?" "Read it and find out" he read it:
Hey Kevin
I left this where you could find it. I know I really shouldn't have gone but I had a good reason. I know I already told you this but I'm telling you again because Brian needs to read this ...I should have told you that I was going to leave yesterday but I didn't know until last night. You guys mean a lot, but Brian's who you should blame. Brian as you know wouldn't give me chance to explain that I needed time to think. I swear I never meant to hurt him. After trying to tell him twice, I thought "what's the point?" Tell Brian I love him. When I left his room I wanted to tell him that my answer was yes. I finally quit crying last night at 11:30. Tell Johnny that he can cancel that deal and to find someone else to open for you guys. I don't have it listen I thought I wanted this, but you're right, if you can't take care of yourself wait a while, put your dreams on hold, and try to get your priorities straight. I'm going to miss you guys, but I gonna move in with my aunt because my Mom and I don't talk. I'll try to take my aunt and grandmother to see you guys in concert because ya'll are awesome. Hey, call me and let me know how things are, OK? By the way, my grandmother lives down the street from Kristin so I'll tell her how everything is with me. Tell the guys whenever you want to, but don't show anyone but Brian this letter. See you later.
