"What?" Julia complained.
Gabriella stole a look at Brooke, then looked back at Julia.
"Have you kissed Nick yet?" Gabby asked.
"What?! No! We are only friends."
"Right." Brooke said with a laugh.
"I swear, a girl can't even talk to a guy without you two thinking there is some kind of secret love obsession." Julia said putting her glass in the sink.
"Us? How could you think that?" Gabby said trying to be angelic.
"I'm not buying that act. I have class, I will see you two at lunch." Julia said leaving.
Gabby looked at Brooke.
"She's got it bad for Nick."
"Oh yeah." Brooke agreed.
Julia got to class and sat down next to a guy who was shuffling through papers. He knocked some over and Julia bent down to pick them up. She handed them to him and he smiled.
"Thanks." he said.
He second glanced her, then held out a hand.
"Hi, my name's Devon. Yours is?"
"Julia. It's nice to meet you."
"Yeah. I have never seen you before, are you new?" Devon asked.
"Yeah, I started here about 2 weeks ago." Julia said.
"How do you like it here?" he asked.
"I love it. My roomates and classes are great. What year are you?"
"Second." he replied.
Julia nodded and they both turned their attention forward since the professor had started his lecture. As the teacher droned on, Devon leaned over to Julia.
"Can I ask what your doing after class?"
A smile spread across Julia's face.
After class, Julia and Devon headed to a coffee shop and talked for a long time. After Devon asked Julia out to dinner the next night, she had to hurry to the small cafe a few blocks away, to meet Gabriella and Brooke for lunch. When Julia got there, Brooke and Gabby were already skimming their menus. Julia sat down with a smile plastered on her face.
"I met a guy!" she confessed.
"Ooh .. details girl!" Gabby blurted out.
"His name is Devon, he's in my psych class, he's in his second year, around 6 feet, blond hair blue eyes, so sweet." Julia gushed.
"Sounds familiar." Brooke said.
Julia knew she was referring to Nick so she just rolled her eyes.
"I'm only kidding, that's great." she said.
"He's taking me out tomorrow night."
"Good, you deserve a great guy." Gabby said smiling.
The girls ordered then started talking about the other 5 guys in their life. AJ, Brian, Howie, Kevin and Nick.
"They're leaving tomorrow night, for a week." Gabby said sadly.
"I will have to call Nick and say good-bye, since I will be out when they leave." Julia said.
"Only Nick?" Gabby said giving a look to Brooke.
"He can tell everyone else by for me. It's not a big deal! I have just gotten to know him best." Julia said matter of factly.
"Oh, of course." Gabby said nodding sarcastically.
"And besides, what do you think Devon is?" Julia glared.
"A cover-up." Brooke said calmly.
Gabriella nodded in agreement and all three girls broke out into laughter.
