The girls walked into Nick's house and went over to the guys. Hellos were exchanged and Nick, Howie, Brooke and Julia headed out to the pool. While AJ, Brian and Gabby went to get sodas. AJ grabbed 5 and headed out to the pool. Brian grabbed some and before heading outside too, Gabby stopped him.
"Thank you." she said closing the fridge door.
"For...?"
"Whatever you said to Brooke. All I know is one minute she is very upset, then the next, after you came over, she's much better." Gabby informed.
"Oh, well ya know ... she is one of my friends and I hate to see her upset." Brian replied.
Gabby made an aww-so-cute face and the two headed out to the pool.
Julia was getting ready to get in the pool as Nick talked to her. Howie was laying in one of the lounge chairs. AJ was sitting under the umbrella at the table and Brooke was laying on a towel, sunbathing. Brian and Gabby walked to the table and placed the sodas in their hands down.
Julia had just finished putting her suntan lotion on. She turned her back towards Nick to dip her toes in the water.
"Julia?" Nick said.
"Yeah?" she asked turning around to face him.
A smirk spread across his face as he playfully pushed Julia into the pool.
Julia came up from the water and gasped from the shock of the push. She wiped the water from her eyes.
"Carter, your gonna pay for that!" she yelled climbing out of the pool.
Brooke looked at the scene and just laid back down. Everyone else laughed as Julia chased Nick around the pool. Nick abruptly stopped and Julia went colliding into Nick causing them both to fall down.
"Look what you did to my knee!" he said in between a laugh.
His knee had a small cut on it that was bleeding.
"Aww, you poor thing..." Julia teased.
She stood up and helped Nick up.
"Come on, I'll go fix your knee."
Nick followed her inside and they headed upstairs to the bathroom. Nick told her where the first aid kit was. She grabbed the stuff to clean the cut and dabbed it on his knee.
"Ow!" he shouted out in pain.
"Don't be such a baby." Julia laughed.
She wiped the cut and put a bandage over it. Then she kissed her finger and touched the band-aid.
"All better?" she asked.
"Yes, thank you Nurse Julia." Nick joked.
Julia stood up and started walking out of the bathroom as Nick followed. They were almost outside when they heard a loud shriek. They rushed to the door to see Brooke standing up, soaking wet and Brian standing there with an empty bucket. He had dumped it all on Brooke. She got up and stormed over to Brian attempting to push him in the pool. He lost his balance and grabbed her arm for support, pulling them both in.
They came up from the water, both drenched.
"Jerk." Brooke said splashing water in his face.
"Your the one who pushed me!" Brian protested.
Brooke rolled her eyes and got out of the pool, Brian following her. They both wrapped their towels around them and sat down to talk.
Julia was just about to suggest they actually all go in the pool when her cell phone rang. She went over to her bag and reached in and retrieved it.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey it's Devon. Where are you?"
"At Nick's house. He's having a party remember?"
"Uh, yeah. Is Gabby or Brooke there, I'd like to talk to one of them." Devon said.
"Um, sure." she said handing the phone to Gabriella.
"It's Gabby. Hey Devon."
"Hi, what has Julia been doing?" he asked.
"Swimming, talking, nothing really." she said rubbing her foot against AJ's.
"Ok. I'll call her later. Bye." he said hanging up quickly.
Gabby shut off the phone.
"What did he want?" Julia asked.
"He wanted to know what you were doing."
"That's weird." Julia said shrugging it off.
Nick listened to what Gabby and Julia were saying about Devon. He was a little confused by Devon. Julia and Devon had just started dating seriously, and already he was tracking her down? Nick tried to shrug it off and got in one of the floats in the pool. Julia joined him. They pushed off against the side of the pool so theirs floats would bump into each other. Julia laughed lightly and then laid down.
Nick looked over and thought how lucky Devon was to have a girl like Julia.
