He started the car and "Meet Virginia" came on the radio. Leigh eyed Nick, and saw he was still quiet. So she started singing really loud and over dramatic.
Nick started smiling.
"Ah! There's the Nick I know and love!" Leigh said smiling at her accomplishment.
With that, he started laughing too. About halfway home, Nick suddenly asked her something.
"So what's up with you and AJ?"
Leigh looked from the window.
"What do you mean?" she asked, lost by the question.
Nick cleared his throat, "Are you dating or what?" he asked, trying to sound like he thought of her and AJ together, didn't hurt him.
Leigh let out a little laugh. "Me and AJ... a couple ?!? Nick, where do you get these strange ideas?" Leigh giggled.
"You have been spending a lot of time together lately!" he said pulling up to his house.
"Well, we are friends. But, you poor baby! You'll be alright." she joked.
He just rolled his eyes and looked away.
"Wanna come meet my parents?" he offered.
Leigh pretended to act nervous, "What if they don't like me!" she said kidding.
Nick laughed, and shut the car door. He started walking to his front door, and Leigh followed him.
He went inside, "Mom? Dad? Anyone home?" he yelled.
Aaron came out of his bedroom.
"I finally beat that game!" he said to Nick.
Then he saw Leigh, "Who are you?" he asked.
Leigh stepped forward, "Hi, I'm Leigh." she said kindly.
"Oh. You any good at video games?" he asked.
"Yeah ... maybe we can play sometime, okay?" she said smiling sweetly.
"Cool!" he said excited.
Then he stepped forward to Nick, "I like this one, keep her around." Aaron said and then went back into his room.
Leigh laughed and Nick just sighed.
"I think he has a crush on you." Nick laughed.
"Oh, he must take after his older brother." she said slyly.
Nick raised his eyebrow, "Me? Have a crush on you? Only in your dreams." he said and pushed past her into the living room.
Leigh huffed and followed him in. Jane was sitting in one of the chairs watching TV.
Nick walked in and kissed her on the cheek, "Hi Mom, I want you to meet Leigh." he said.
Leigh stepped forward. "Hi Mrs.Carter." she said politely.
She got up from her chair, "Oh call me Jane! It is so nice to finally meet you. I have heard so much about you." she said and smiled.
Leigh eyed Nick, and he was turning red.
Before his mother could say more, Nick coughed, "Mom, me and Leigh are going to go upstairs and watch TV." he said and grabbed Leigh's hand.
"It was nice meeting you!" Leigh said as she got dragged off upstairs.
