She stirred a little, "Nick?" she said quietly, seeing if he was awake.
"Yeah, I'm here." he said softly brushing the hair off of the side of her face.
"Why'd you stay? You could have left, I mean, I would have been fine." Leigh said, loving the fact he had stayed.
"I know, I just like watching you sleep, I guess."
Leigh sat up and smiled at him. "Your so sweet!" she gushed.
"Want me to drive home with you, then I can walk back?" Leigh offered.
"No, I wouldn't let you walk back, alone, in the middle of the night. I'll be fine." he said, while he got up and grabbed his shoes.
"Well, I will talk to you tomorrow then?" Leigh said.
"Definitely. Thanks for having me over." Nick said opening the door.
Leigh gave him a hug and he left.
A minute later she heard his car start, and him drive away. She leaned against the door and let out a sigh.
She was realizing Nick made her very happy. She danced up the stairs to her bedroom and fell asleep peacefully.
The next day, she woke up around 10 am. She jumped in the shower and got dressed. Leigh was just about to grab the movies to go return them, when the phone rang.
"Hello?" she answered, hoping it was Nick.
"Hi it's Brian! What are you up to?" he asked.
"Nada, why wanna go grab some lunch?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'll pick you up in 10 minutes." he said.
Then they hung up.
A few minutes later, Brian was at Leigh's door.
"Ready to go?" Brian said.
Leigh came out and got into Brian's car.
"So where are we going?" Leigh asked once they started driving.
"Wanna grab pizzas, and just hang?" Brian said with an accent.
"Sure." she agreed.
So they ordered pizzas, and took them to Brian's house.
They ate, watched movies and talked for a few hours. The next thing Leigh knew it was 2 PM.
"My mom's gonna be home soon, and I haven't seen her in a few days. I should be going." Leigh said.
"Okay, let me drive you home." Brian said grabbing his keys.
"Thanks. I will talk to you later." she said when they got to her house, then shut the door.
She got inside and yelled out to see if her mother was home.
No response.
She dropped her keys on the counter, and went over to the answering machine.
The first message was from her Mom, saying she's be 2 hours late.
The second and third were hang-ups, and the fourth was from Nick.
"Hey it's me. I tried calling earlier, but no ones answering. Call me back." Leigh thought he sounded a little annoyed on the phone.
So she picked up the phone, and dialed his number.
"Hello?" Nick answered.
"It's Leigh. Wanna come over?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'll be right there." Nick said and quickly hung up.
Not even 5 minutes later, Nick was at Leigh's front door.
"Hey." she said letting him in.
"Where were you all day?" Nick asked.
"Hi works well too," Leigh laughed.
"I was with Brian, why?" she asked.
"What'd you do?" Nick asked.
"We ate, watched TV and talked. Why are you so interested?" Leigh said getting annoyed with his prying.
"Did you kiss him?" he asked getting jealous.
"What?" she yelled, not believing why he was saying.
"Yeah, we made out actually. Me and Brian. Cause you know how I am like that. You know what? Get out of my house, your making me sick." Leigh yelled.
She was about to go into the kitchen when she turned around, "I don't know what I ever saw in you." she spit out.
"What?! Why are you mad when your the one going out with other guys when you practically have a boyfriend!" Nick cried out, his temper flaring.
"That is a lie! Brian is my friend and you were too. Not my boyfriend! And now your neither! I don't want to speak to you." Leigh screamed.
"Whatever." Nick said as he left.
Leigh took a deep breath, and then sat down. She was about to cry, but she convinced herself he wasn't worth it.
About 20 minutes later, her Mom came home. They talked for hours, and Leigh forgot about Nick and the fight.
