"My dad got transferred. We're moving in 2 weeks." Anna said through huge sobs.
Tears started pouring out of Leigh's eyes. Anna had been Leigh's best friend for as long as she could remember, and now she was leaving.
Downstairs, Leigh's mother opened the door for Nick and told him Leigh was in her bedroom. He climbed the stairs and opened the door to see Leigh on the phone, in tears.
"What's wrong?" Nick said sitting down next to her.
She just shook her head and swallowed hard.
"Isn't there anything we can do? I can't let you leave, your my best friend." Leigh managed to say before new tears streamed down her face.
Anna sniffled, "My Mom said she feels awful, and wishes there was some way I could stay. So maybe I could get an apartment, I don't know. Hold on okay?" she said.
"Yeah." Leigh said wiping away her tears with her sleeve.
Leigh didn't even pay attention to Nick because she was in shock.
Anna came back a minute later.
"I need to call you back, my dad needs to make an important call."
"Okay, good-bye Anna."
"Bye Leigh."
Leigh hung up the phone.
She put her face in her hands and Nick wrapped his arm around her.
"Baby, tell me what's wrong..." Nick pleaded.
"Anna's moving."
Nick didn't know what to say so he just hugged her tightly.
"Don't be upset, we will work something out, I promise."
Leigh nodded and laid down burying her face in her pillow.
"Do you want me to leave?" he asked quietly.
"No, just be here with me." she said simply.
So Nick got comfortable next to Leigh and just sat there with her, till she fell asleep. Nick sat there most of the evening planning and thinking. Then around 6 PM, Leigh started to wake up.
"How are you feeling?" Nick asked.
"Ok..." she mumbled.
She got up and brushed her teeth, then went back in her room.
"I need to go for a walk or something, I will be back in 30 minutes or so. You can go home or stay here, I just need to think some things through." she said.
Nick noticed how totally out of it she was.
"Okay, I think I will stay here, till you get back." Nick said kissing her lightly.
Leigh went down the stairs and a few seconds later, he heard the car start. Nick picked up the phone and made some calls. About 20 minutes, later Leigh came back.
"Hi." she said, she was looking a little better.
"I have something to tell you." he said with a big smirk.
"Yeah?" she said taking her shoes off.
"Anna's not moving."
"What?" Leigh shouted, half shocked, half deliriously happy.
"I called Anna's mother and talked to her and a few real estate agencies. And Anna's mother said, if she could find someone Anna could move in with, Anna could stay. So I told her how I was looking to but a house anyway. So Anna and me are going to move in together." he said grinning.
Leigh jumped up and wrapped her arms around Nick's neck.
"I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you!" she shrieked.
Then she kissed Nick deeply. They kept kissing until Leigh fell back onto her bed. She parted from him a minute.
"What would I do without you?" she said loving Nick more than ever.
"Sit in your room the rest of your life, crying. Siting on your butt all day long, talking about the good old days.." Nick joked.
"Real funny." she said before she began kissing him again.
Nick kissed her neck and then went back up to her lips.
"I love you Nick." Leigh said through kisses.
"I love you too." he replied.
They parted a minute.
"Will you move in with me?" Nick asked out of nowhere.
"My Mom would be lonely, but I am moving out soon anyways...yes I will."
Nick smiled hugely then kissed Leigh so deeply it left them both breathless.
They sat and talked awhile about the house and everything, then Nick and Leigh went to his house.
At Nick's house...
"Hey Mom, I want to talk to you." Nick said sitting down near Leigh.
"Anna and me are moving in together, so she doesn't have to move and Leigh is moving in too." he said quickly.
Jane eyed her son.
"What is this, Three's Company?" Jane laughed.
Then she said that she was fine with the idea, and Leigh should call her mother and invite her over to talk. So Leigh did, then she came back from the kitchen.
"She will be here in a few minutes." Leigh said.
