The find
of the month is just a cool site that I've discovered. I'll post it, along
with an interview with the site owner, here for a month, and then move the link
to my links page. By the way, if you've found a site that you think is
worthy of this spot, Email me
the URL.
This month's Find of the
Month is kristin.color.nu. This is a
personal site with tons of stuff to do! It's very impressive.
I can't believe Kristin's creativity!
Layout - 9/10 Content -
10/10 Overall - 10/10
Kristin's site gets a
total of 29 points out of thirty possible. The only reason she didn't get
a ten on the layout was that the background, while awesome, was kind of choppy
at the edge of the left frame. Here's my short interview with her:
TFG
- What's your favorite thing about the site?
KCN - I think my layout is my favorite part, because it's also the
most important part. My layout sets the mood for my whole page, so I
always try to make it fun-looking and colorful, like the rest of my site.
The layout is really important because it will make me or break me, if it's
thrown together, people will know it, so I always try to put a lot of thought
and effort into it & make it the best I can.
TFG = Do you have any other sites?
KCN - No. I've never owned two sites at one time, it's too
much work!
TFG - A lot of ideas on your site were sent in by visitors.
What's your favorite of these ideas?
KCN - I used to have a domain, and when I had to shut it down
because I couldn't make the payments on it, I did a lot of switching around
before I started kristin.color.nu. After I had had kristin.color.nu for a
few months, a girl e-mailed me and gave me a list of everything that she used to
enjoy at my domain that WASN'T at kristin.color.nu. Usually I don't like
criticism, but her ideas helped me out a lot because she told me exactly what
she enjoyed at my domain from the standpoint of a visitor. So I brought
back a lot of the content that I used to have at my domain. There were
several things that she listed, so I really don't have a favorite idea, but her
e-mail was definitely my favorite form of visitor feedback.
TFG - Do you have any plans for kristin.color.nu in the future?
New features, layouts... Anything?
KCN - I'm working on a lot of new subpage ideas right now. I
have an ice-cream maker planned, which will be a lot like my "pizza
maker" and "nailpolisher". I'm also working on some more
free things that people can use on their pages. Mostly any new features
will be subpages. I'm learning to use Paint Shop Pro to make my layouts,
and a girl promised to send me a copy of her Photoshop software, which I hear is
a really good program to use for good-looking layouts. I may put up a
suggestion form so people can send me THEIR ideas for my page. If you surf
around, you'll notice several of my subpages have "Thanks for the
idea...___" written at the top - often my visitors have better ideas than I
do, so I use them!
