Straight A student faced a 5-day
suspension
period for bringing a bullet to school.
Jonathan Cross was nine years-old when he went to school in a
duck-hunting outfit, for spirit day, only to realize that in his pocket
there
was a shotgun shell. When the supervising teacher identified the shell
Jonathan Cross was directed to report to the principal. There the
principal stunned the once straight A student with five days of suspension.
The reason for such a verdict was because of the schools zero-tolerance
policy.
Many schools nationwide have adopted the zero-tolerance
policy
stating that there are to be no weapons and/or explosive devices allowed on
school property. Some people argue that the boy shouldn't be suspended
because he had no intention of hurting his fellow classmates.
