Chapter Five

Jasmine watched Helen’s Father bring her back to her room, along with her Mother. Helen looked so happy. Jasmine felt a twinge of jealousy that Helen had finally figured out who her real parents were. Duo, as she had learned his name was, seemed to hint that her Father was a jerk. She couldn’t stand that. He had no right to criticize her family like that! Noin had ordered everyone back to their rooms since Helen had disappeared for nearly two hours. As Duo snuck away, Noin caught him. Jasmine pressed her ear up against the door to hear Noin scold him.

"You should know better than to sneak Helen away from training like that! You didn’t even inform me of where you were taking her."

"Hey, she’s my kid!" Duo said defensively.

"Yes, but I am responsible for her training. If I don’t know where she is…"

"OK, OK," Duo cut her off. "I get it! It won’t happen again, I promise."

"Thank you," Noin left Duo there to make faces at her. Jasmine waited for him to leave. Then she snuck out of her room and down the hall to Helen’s room. She knocked on the door three times and waited for Helen to answer.

"Helen," Jasmine called.

"Coming," Helen opened the door. Her face was still beaming. "Oh, Jasmine!" Helen smiled. "Why are you here?"

"I just wanted to see how things went with your family." Jasmine said sweetly. She pushed past Helen and into her room.

"Oh, they went fine." Helen replied as she closed the door behind Jasmine.

"I must say," Continued Jasmine, "I am slightly jealous of you." Jasmine flopped onto Helen’s bed. "What did you guys do?"

Helen smiled as if she was glad she got to tell someone. It was almost as if she couldn’t wait to share her trip with the others. "My Father showed me the Gundams," Helen grinned. She watched even more jealousy wash over Jasmine’s face.

"You saw the Gundams?" Jasmine gasped.

"MmmHm, and they’re making more…"

"More? For who?"

Helen grinned even wider. "For us!" She squealed.

"Really?" Jasmine sounded genuinely excited.

"Yes," Helen gasped.

"What else did they tell you?"

"Oh not much. They both had their fair share of war stories; I also met a few other people. Apparently all of our parents were original Gundam pilots."

Jasmine gasped again dramatically.

Helen smiled and nodded. "Yes, and you know what else?"

"What?" Jasmine asked curiously.

"You and Joel… are twins."

Jasmine thought for a moment. "I always did think we looked like family. Did you happen to meet my parents?"

"No, I don’t think so. But I’m sure I know who David’s parents are and Jason’s Father was there as well."

Jasmine smirked evilly. "Don’t tell David who they are, but make sure he knows you know who they are. It will drive him crazy!"

Helen laughed. "You have an evil mind!"

Jasmine smiled. "I know," She said proudly.

~~~
"Please?"
"No,"
"Please?"
"No,"
"PLEASE?"
"Not a chance." Helen grinned as she continued to taunt David with the information she had on his parents.
"Please, please, please, please, please?" David whined.
"No way…"
Jasmine’s grin grew even wider as David kept whining. As an added bonus, Joel was going absolutely nuts as he tried to shut David up.
"Be quiet you annoying little…" Joel growled but was cut off by Jason.
"Whoa, hold up." Jason cried as he tried to stop Joel from leaping onto David. Indigo watched with interest and started to laugh.
"What’s so funny?" Joel demanded, turning his rage to her.
"That just looks nasty." She giggled. She pointed at Jason who was practically lying on top of Joel.
"ARG! Get off me!" Joel cried. He pushed Jason halfway across the room and then lunged at Indigo.
"Hey, knock it off guys!" Helen screamed. She ran into the mess to break it up. Jasmine, who didn’t want to be left out, also jumped into the mass of fighting. David stood at the side, screaming at them to stop fighting before he got hurt.
Jasmine eventually made her way to Joel, who was the core of the problem, and held him back.
"Cool it, Joel." She growled. She locked Joel’s arms behind his back and waited for him to calm down. Now that Joel was out, the rest of the group calmed down in about a minute.
"AW, and you guys used to play so nicely together." Noin grinned. She had obviously seen the fight.
"I remember something very similar to this the day you left your parents. Except David was in there as well, I’m sure. Plus Jason had a water gun."
The six embarrassed teens sat in their designated seats and waited for Noin to finish. They knew that she had a reason for bringing them there, and they all wanted to know what her reason was. David opened his mouth to speak, but Noin held up her hand to stop him.
"Not now, David."
In that instant, the door barged open and the people who had started the food fight earlier that day marched in, accompanied by three extra people. The Chinese guy was there and Jason saw his Father and Mother there as well.
"So Noin," Midii grumbled. "What’s the big idea for pulling us all off our wonderful vacation and bringing us back to work, of all places? It had better be something good."
"Oh it is," Relina assured her.
"You know?" Midii gasped. Relina just smirked.
"Ok then guys. Since I know you are all very impatient people, I’ll get right to the point."
"Get on with it…" Trowa growled sarcastically.
"What was that?" Noin gasped. "I think Trowa may actually have some twisted form of humor!"
"Shut up!" Trowa screamed.
Noin laughed. "Guys," She said. "I would like you all to meet Jason Yuy, Helen Maxwell, Indigo Barton, Joel and Jasmine Chang and David Winner.
Each parent stared at their individual child/children.
"Hi Mom and Dad." Helen smirked. She bounced up to give her parents a hug, as did Jason.
David stared at the only two people who could possibly be his parents. He remembered passing them over in his history book several times. But for some reason he kept turning back to them. Could it have been because he was really David Winner? He thought over this for a moment with a blank expression before he finally passed out.
Joel and Jasmine stared at each other. Joel with disbelief and Jasmine with a smirk.
"Nice to see you again, brother." Jasmine smirked. Joel looked on with an astonished expression from Jasmine to the Chinese guy and the tough-looking woman.
"Your my…" He pointed at Jasmine, "And they’re my…" He moved his finger from left to right, from Jasmine to their parents. It looked like Joel was going to pass out as well. And their Father picked up on it.
"You’d better not faint like Quatre’s pansy child." He warned. "If you do you are weak and I will disown you!"
"You will not!" Their Mother cried. She hit him over the head and ran to give both her kids a big hug. Jasmine laughed and returned her hug while Joel stared right through her with his mouth hanging open. Their Father lingered behind, trying to decide what to make of the situation. Eventually he walked behind his wife and looked almost sweetly at his children.
Indigo leapt into her father’s arms and let him spin her around as tears of pure joy filled his eyes. He put her down.
"Midii, look!" He cried. "She’s back!"
Midii nodded as she bit on her lip.
"Midii!" Trowa cried loudly.
"What!" Midii broke out of her trance.
"You were biting on your lip again."
"Sorry Trowa, nervous habit."
"What’s to be nervous about, mom?" Indigo smiled and gave her mom a huge bear hug.
"Oh, Indigo, I didn’t think I would ever see you again." Midii cried. "You don’t hate us do you?" Midii gasped.
Indigo pulled back from her Mother. "Of course not! Why would I?"
"Because we left you. We gave you up. You have to understand, we didn’t have a choice!" Midii continued with her wild ranting.
"Mom…MOM!" Indigo cried. Her mother stopped ranting for a moment. "I do understand. And I don’t hate you."
Noin felt a tear begin to form in her eye. Zechs came from behind her and wiped it away.
"Why didn’t we ever have kids?" Noin asked. Zechs just smiled. "You never wanted any." He replied.
Noin nodded, "I know, Zechs, I know."
She watched the five happy families.
"All right," She yelled suddenly. The room immediately quieted.
"You can all go exploring if you like, but be back here at nine. You should all get to know each other again because you’ll be working together pretty soon."
"We get to work together?" Duo asked.
"Yeah," Replied Noin, "We need someone to show them how to work a Gundam."
Duo looked at Helen and smiled broadly. "I’m going to show you the ropes, kid."
Helen nodded. One by one the families went in their separate directions. Only Dorothy and Quatre remained as they tried to wake up their son.
"You know," Dorothy said, "He gets that from you."
Quatre looked at her with disbelief. "I do not pass out!" He gasped.
"HA!" Dorothy laughed. "You do too, remember that time…"
"Oh why do you always have to bring that up?"
"Because, and I’ll keep bringing it up until I get my point across."
"You’re point is across already, man alive."
"That is such a gay expression,"
"What is?"
"Man alive, it’s so old,"
"I don’t care,"
"Mom? Dad?" David moaned as he came to.
"David!" Quatre cried excitedly.
"Good to have you back son, do you by any chance know how to work a gun?" Dorothy asked sweetly.
"Um, no…"
"DAMMIT! What did those foster parents teach you? Knitting?" Dorothy screamed.
"Actually," David said, "They…they…" David thought for a moment, "They didn’t teach me much of anything, I guess it was you that taught me how to speak and stuff."
"That’s right David," Dorothy smiled, "And don’t you forget it!"
David smiled and let his Father help him up again.
~~~

"Hey, Heero! Wait up!" Duo cried as he ran to catch up with his friend. Heero turned around slowly and waited for Duo to catch up, Helen and Hilde followed close behind.

"What is it, Duo?" Heero growled. Duo laughed, "Don’t be so rude, Heero. We’re supposed to be friends, remember?"

"No,"

Duo laughed again. "Come hang out with us Heero, we’re going out."

"Out where?" Heero was becoming suspicious that Duo was going to get into some sort of trouble.

"Just…out for dinner…" Duo stuttered.

"Why do I not believe you?"

"We are going for dinner! We’re just going for dinner in…well not in this stupid base, that’s for sure."

"It’s not wise to go out in the colony, someone could recognize you." Relina stated.

"Come on Relina! Where’s your sense of adventure? Oh wait, I forgot, you don’t have one!" Hilde chuckled.

"I do to!"

"No way Relina, you’re a politician."

"So? Come on Heero, we’ll show them!" Relina grabbed Heero’s arm and started to storm off towards the exit.

"How do you do that?" Duo asked Hilde with admiration in his voice. Hilde just shrugged.

"Where’s Quatre?" Duo asked suddenly, "We can get him to come and pay."

"I don’t know," Hilde answered, "But I don’t think he’d come. He wouldn’t risk getting in trouble with Noin."

"That’s true," Duo sighed, "Oh well."

Duo, Hilde and Helen hurried to catch up with the Yuys.

Jason smiled at Helen and fell behind the four adults to walk beside her.

"Looks like our parents are best friends," He smirked. "Too bad we can’t say the same for each other."

"Yeah," Helen said sarcastically, "Too bad."

Jason was stunned for a moment. "HAHA, Helen, that was so funny. HAHAHA." he copied her sarcastic tone.

"So where do you think they’ll take us?" Jason asked after a moment.

"I don’t know, and frankly I don’t care. I want to hear some more war stories."

"Aw bummer," Jason cried. "You got to hear war stories?"

Helen smirked triumphantly. "Yup, and straight form the mouth of the greatest Gundam pilot ever."

"You mean him?" Jason asked. He pointed at Duo who has his braid caught tightly in Heero’s clenched fist.

"He IS the best."

"No way!"

"Yes way!" Helen stuck her tongue out at Jason.

Jason took that as his cue. He grabbed Helen’s face locked his mouth onto hers. Helen screeched as he pulled her in and he took his opportunity to stick his tongue into her mouth.

Helen felt herself get slammed up against the wall. She threw her hands onto Jason’s shoulders and tried to push him off. But Jason’s own hands held her arms back, making her attempts almost useless. To Helen, the kiss seemed to last at least five minutes, even though in reality it was more like one minute. Jason massaged her tongue with his own tongue and lips. Helen never stopped struggling against his embrace, even though part of her kind-of liked it.

When Jason finally pulled back, he came face to face with a very angry looking Duo Maxwell with an equally peeved Hilde behind him. His own Mother had her face buried in her hands to hide her embarrassment and Heero looked annoyed. Jason laughed an annoying arrogant laugh. Heero grabbed his son by the shoulder and dragged him to the other side of the hall. Helen looked just about ready to explode.

"You jerk!" She screamed. She lunged at Jason, only to be caught and held back by her Father. Jason continued laughing and blew her a kiss, which only made her more angry.

"That was not called for, Jason." Heero growled at his son.

"Aw, but Pop. She asked for it!" Jason cried.

"I didn’t hear her." Relina growled, just as mortified as her husband.

"Ok Helen," Duo said as he tried to calm his daughter down.

"Did you see what he just did?" Helen screamed. She wriggled free of Duo’s grip and lunged at Jason once again. Luckily for Jason, her Father caught her once again, but this time he needed her Mother’s help to hold her back.

"I say we let her rip him apart." Heero said. "Maybe then he’d learn his lesson."

"Ahhhh no! Pop, you can’t!" Jason cried.

"I’m going to have to agree with Jason on this one." Hilde said.

Duo and Helen both stared at her like she was nuts.

"Remember what happened the last time we let Helen do what she wanted to Jason? She nearly lived up to her nickname ‘Shinigami junior’."

Duo laughed. "I remember that! That poor, stupid kid. Helen just about killed him."

"What?" Jason cried. "What did she do?"

"She broke your collar bone, dear, and gave you a concussion." Relina answered with a smile.

"Holy cow," Said Jason, "What did I do?"

Heero, Duo, Hilde and Relina all smiled. "The same thing you just did."

Jason gulped loudly. "I think I’m going to run now," He yelped. He broke away from his parents and bolted down the hallway.

"May I?" Helen asked her Father with big puppy dog eyes. Duo looked at Hilde and she smiled.

"Why not?" Duo answered. Helen smirked and cracked her knuckles.

"You’re gonna die, Yuy!" She screamed. She sped down the hallway after him.

~

Wufei, Sally, Jasmine and Joel walked slowly down the hallway.

"Die you little rat!" They heard a familiar voice screamed.

"That sounded like Helen," Jasmine remarked. All four of them watched as a terrified Jason bolted around the corner, followed closely by Helen.

"Guys," Jason cried, "You have to help me!"

Jasmine and Joel smirked evilly. Each one rushed towards Jason and grabbed a separate arm.

"Ah no! What are you doing?" Jason cried. Jasmine and Joel just continued to smile.

"What did he do?" Wufei asked Helen as she caught up with them.

Helen grinned. "Let’s just say the last time he did this he ended up with a concussion and a broken collar bone." Helen wound up her fist.

"Help me," Jason whined quietly.

Sally looked at him, shocked. "You didn’t!"

"I did," Jason whined. He prepared himself for the worst. Helen leaned in close.

"I’m going to get you when you least expect it." She said to him quietly. And with that she turned on her heel and walked away. The Chang twins dropped Jason and left him as well to join their parents.

"I’m going to die," He whispered quietly to himself.

~~

It had been another week of training since the incident between Helen and Jason. Helen had still not gotten Jason back, and Jason jumped at her every move. At the gym, Jason would go to the other end of the room to work out. He would sit at the other end of the table at meals and stayed as far away as possible any other time. Classes were the worst. Zechs would go on about their mission and give them more info on their individual Gundams. He always said that intelligence was just as important as techniques. It was so boring and Jason had the seat right next to Helen. She said when he didn’t expect it, so Jason was always on his guard. Maybe then it would never come. He hoped so.

All the kids were getting to know their parents a lot better. They had even finished the Gundams for them. Noin said that today they would get to see them first hand. She led them out of the normal training facilities and to the hanger. The six teens looked on in awe at the six giant mobile suits towering in front of them.

"When each of you were very young," Noin began explaining to them about their Gundams. "You were each required to do a test that would determine your strong points in battle."

She looked over the faces of the six Gundam kids who were now all paying close attention. They were standing in a neatly organized line as they were trained to do.

"Helen," She said "Tested being just like her father in a mobile suit in some ways, but in other ways she was not. Like Duo, Helen has shown that she was a ruthless fighter. I’m sure Jason has figured that out, or will soon."

Jason gulped loudly and the other kids laughed. Jason stared nervously at Helen who was at the other end of the line.

"However, Helen also proved to be quick-thinking, there fore we have taken her abilities and incorporated them into the Gundam Tyrant. It is very fast and has extremely powerful weapons."

Jason gulped again. Noin moved down the line. "Jasmine was determined, and stuck to habit. So we gave her only a few weapons but made them very strong. Hers is the Gundam Dragon."

Now it was Joel’s turn. "Joel was a very independent person…"

"That’s a nice way of saying he’s a loner." Jason whispered to Indigo who was right next to him. Indigo giggled but stopped when Noin glared at her.

"As I was saying," She shot a nasty look at Jason and Indigo who both shrank back. "The Gundam Tiger is equipped with a stealth cloak and is very silent."

"David never seemed to use the same thing twice in a row, so his Gundam, the Gundam Armageddon has quite a few different weapons as well as flight abilities."

"What about me?" Indigo chirped.

"You were the hardest to figure out. You were very artistic as a child. You also had quick reflexes. We call yours the Gundam Venus. It’s has a few interesting abilities as well as flight capabilities just like David’s."

Indigo smiled. "Cool, when do I get to use it?"

"When you’re ready. Remember this is just an introduction." Indigo frowned; she wanted to use them right at that minute.

"Lastly Jason. Jason didn’t have any special skills," Noin joked.

"HEY!" Cried Jason.

"Just kidding Jason." Noin laughed. "Actually you were a pretty interesting kid. You were very intelligent when it came to practical situations, believe it or not."

"I’ll believe it when I see it," Helen snorted. Noin shot her a nasty glare.

"Jason you’re Gundam is very mobile, it’s good for just about anything. Flying, swimming, space, you name it that thing can do it. It’s called the Gundam Morpha."

Jason smiled and nodded. "Cool," he said. He looked around at the mobile suits. Each one had it’s own unique look. He wondered which one was his.
