Chapter Four

By seven o'clock David was driving everyone crazy. He had already visited each person several times, asking what time it was or if they could help him figure out who his parents were. Poor David got several doors slammed in his face. But Jason did too. He went to go flirt with the girl with blue hair but she slammed the door in his face as well. He had only bugged her enough to find out her name was Helen.

Helen was staring at the uniforms in her closet when a knock came at her door. "If that's him again..." She growled as she opened her door. To her surprise, instead of Jason, she saw the smiling face of the younger girl. Her name was Indigo.

"Hi Helen!" Indigo smiled. She was already in her uniform.

"Do we really have to wear those?" Helen asked with disgusted look.

"Afraid so," Indigo grinned. "We have to be ready in ten minutes so you'd better hurry up."

With that Indigo left to go get the rest of the kids up.

Helen closed the door and picked up a uniform. "What is this? One size fits all?"

She changed quickly into the pants, socks, boots, shirt and jacket. They were a little tight. Helen finished tying up her boots when her clock hit seven o'clock.

"Everybody out of your rooms!" Noin called.

One by one the kids filed out of their rooms and stood in front of their door.

"Hey sweetheart!" Jason called and winked at her. Helen looked at him with a glare that rivaled Heero's. Noin glared at all of them with her own death glare.

"Come with me," She said. She led them back down the halls to another room. This one had a bunch of computers in it. Each computer had a number on it.

"Go sit down at the computer that corresponds with your room number." A man with long blonde hair said from the front of the room.

"Um, what's my room number?" Jason joked.

"Shut up!" Helen hissed.

"You got it babe," Jason saluted.

"Which one are you?" The man asked Jason.

"I'm Jason." Jason smiled. At that very sentence the man seemed to immediately hate him.

The man introduced himself as Zechs. He talked for several hours about their mission, their weapons and their allies as well as possible enemies. No one really listened though, except maybe David who was absolutely intrigued.

Helen stared at the clock on the wall, trying to figure out how long she had been sitting there and how much longer it would last.

"Oh, Milliardo! I'm glad I found you!" A pretty young woman barged into the room. "Oh, Hello Noin." She said to the other woman. Noin just smiled and nodded politely.

"Relena," Zechs growled, "Can't you see I'm trying to teach?"

"Oh yes, I'm sorry brother but I just HAD to speak with you!"

David stared at the woman and then at his favorite history book. "It's...Relena Peacecraft!" He whispered excitedly.

"So just who are you teaching? New recruits? I didn't know we were getting any." Relena looked over the six people in the room. "And why so few?"

"Actually Relena," Zechs started, "These six people are the reason I called all of you off your holidays." He said. "Why DO you all take your holidays the same week?" he asked irritably.

"Oh, we like to spend some time together that's all. What can we possibly do if one person is off and the other nine are all working?"

"Good point," Mumbled Zechs.

Relena smiled. "So Milliardo, why don't you introduce me to these young people here?" She giggled a bit as she looked over the group again. She froze at one boy.

"J...Jason?" She stuttered. Jason froze, how on Earth did she know his name? But he didn't have time to think, because Relena passed out and fell into Zechs' arms.

"Relena!" Noin cried. She ran to help Zechs with his sister. Five of the six teens also ran to help. Only Jason remained for a moment. He was shocked at her reaction. He made the poor woman pass out.

When Relena came to, everyone was gone. They had been shoed off to their rooms by Noin. Now Heero and Zechs filled Relena's eyes.

"Relena," Heero said angelically, "Are you all right?"

"Oh my god Heero, you'll never guess who I just saw!" She gasped.

"Never mind that Relena." Zechs said softly. "You should get some rest."

"NO!" Cried Relena, "I want to see him!"

"See who?" Heero asked, sounding unusually confused.

"She probably means me," Jason said uncertainly. He stood in the doorway and watched the three people gaze up at him.

"Jason!" Relena gasped again. She began to cry. Heero stood up with a deadly glare still planted on his face.

"Ok, is someone going to kill me because I keep upsetting Miss Relena here?"

Heero seemed alarmed and then his face immediately softened.

"I am Heero Yuy," Heero said in his monotone voice. "This is my wife Relena Yuy, my brother and sister in-law Lucrezia and Milliardo uh...whatever name they go by." He looked at Jason intently. Jason shrank back again. "Your name..." He paused, "Is Jason Yuy."

"Excuse me?" Jason choked.

"You are..." Heero began again.

"Yeah I heard all that!" Jason cried. "You just told me that THE Relena Dorlian; Former Vice Foreign Minister Dorlian and Heero Yuy, the Gundam pilot are my parents. And frankly, I find that hard to believe." He gasped.

"Why?" Asked Heero.

"Because...because...I can't accept the fact that my parents were war hero's or whatever."

"So you admit it's a fact." Heero smiled.

"Yes! I mean NO! I mean...stop confusing me!" Jason was panting for breath now. Heero smiled and Relena started to cry even harder from her spot on the floor. Zechs had by now disappeared.

"Get some sleep Jason." Heero said to his son, "We can discuss this in the morning."

Jason nodded quickly and turned and left.

"Why'd you do that?" Relena hissed.

"Do what?" Asked Heero.

"Send our son away like that!"

"You need sleep too Relena,"

"Don't change the subject on me!"

Jason smiled. He leaned against the wall and listened to the voices of his parents. He felt a strange sense of peace in knowing who they were, and that they loved him.

Trumpets blasted through the intercoms in each and every room. Jasmine groaned and looked at her alarm clock. It was five o'clock in the morning. What kind of nut woke up at five?

"Get up, get up!" Noin's sickeningly cheerful voice called as she knocked on each door to make sure they were awake.

She had the most trouble getting Helen out of bed. 'She definitely takes after her Father.' Noin thought. Indigo, David and Joel were all early risers and Jasmine and Jason didn't have too much difficulty getting out of bed, but Helen! Noin needed some kind of plan. How would she get Duo out of bed? Drag him by his braid? Nah, too obvious and it would just make her cranky.

"Come on Helen," She called, "It's time for breakfast. FREE FOOD!" She emphasized the 'free food' part.

"Free food?" Helen's sleepy voice floated through the door.

"That's right,"

"And I don't have to cook it myself?"

"We have our own cooks."

"Can I have blueberry pie?"

"You can have anything you want."

"Cool," Helen murmured, "Count me in."

Noin smiled. "Be ready in twenty minutes to go down to the cafeteria."

Twenty minutes later all six teens were dressed and almost awake and ready to go. In ten more minutes, each kid was sitting at a table with their own personalized breakfast. Helen had her giant blueberry pie, Jason had cold pizza, Joel and Jasmine both wanted dumplings and Indigo was content with her fresh fruit salad. The group laughed and chatted with each other. But Jason seemed a little distant. He was searching the cafeteria over and over again.

"You looking for someone?" Helen asked with a mouthful of blueberry pie.

"Maybe," Jason replied. Helen followed his gaze. Their eyes got fixated at a small group of official people talking politely to each other...if only they could hear what was really going on.

Across the room, three of the five former Gundam pilots and four of the wives sat at the table talking and laughing amongst themselves.

"Oh yeah right!" Hilde laughed at her friend Sally. "Like he would actually do that!"

"Well that's what I thought at first," Sally replied, "But he seemed so sincere."

"Uh un," Duo said, joining in the conversation, "Wufei is DEFINIETLY not a romantic guy."

"Getting in on the girl talk again Duo?" Quatre asked,

"What do you mean?" Duo demanded.

"Come on!" Laughed Quatre, "We ALL know that you wish you were a woman."

"WHAT?" Duo cried.

"OK, OK!" Midii cried, trying to head of the carnage poor Quatre was about to face. Dorothy just sat next to him with a mischievous smile dancing across her lips.

"Yeah Duo," Sally grinned, "How would YOU know whether or not Wufei is romantic?"

"Ugh," Replied Duo, "I'm not sure I wanna know."

Laughter erupted from the table, which turned a few heads.

"Imagine Wufei and Sally..."

"Shut up!" Cried Quatre, "I don't need to hear all that!" He shoved his napkin into Duo's mouth. Duo laughed through the napkin.

"Don't be such a stiff Quatre," Hilde cried. She flicked a few watermelon seeds at him. But she accidentally missed, sending them flying into Trowa. Trowa wiped them from his face and whipped them back at Hilde.

"Oh, now it's on!" Hilde cried. She jumped up from the table and threw the first thing she could find at Trowa, which happened to be Midii's bread.

"Hey!" Midii cried. She picked up some eggs and smashed them in Hilde's face.

Duo stood up on his chair. "FOOD FIGHT!" He screamed. Soon the entire cafeteria was screaming and throwing food across the room.

The newest Preventors did not participate, however. They didn't want to get in trouble on their first real day at work.

A slamming of a large door interrupted the fight. A very disgusted Chinese man stood at the entrance to the cafeteria. The screaming and yelling immediately ceased and the officials who had started it lined up in a row, as if awaiting an inspection. The Chinese man walked down the line and stopped directly in front of a man with a long braid.

"Maxwell," He growled. The braided guy winced. "Ok, um...Wu-man, here's how it goes um..." He stuttered for a moment. "Ah...ah...ah...She started it!" He pointed at Hilde who was standing beside him.

"Duo!" She shrieked. He winced again. "Oh, I'm sorry babe. Did I say you? I meant uh...Quatre did it!"

The blonde man paled and gulped loudly.

"Quatre did all this?" The Chinese man growled at poor Duo. "Quatre won't even drop a toothpick on the ground, let alone cause this mess! CLEAN IT UP!"

With that the Chinese guy turned around and left. Duo made faces at him behind his back.

"Knock it off, Duo." The Chinese guy snarled. Duo looked shocked that he could know what he was doing.

"Jerk," Duo muttered.

"I heard that!" He yelled as he stormed out. Before he left he turned around again. "This had better be cleaned up by lunch, as for the rest of you... OUT!"

The cafeteria murmured for a minute before the people made their way out. They gave the group of officials sympathetic looks and smart comments as they passed.

Joel examined the newest room they were in. It looked like a gym. It had every piece of workout equipment possible and then some. There were weights, treadmills and even a pool! Noin instructed them to work out here for at least three hours every day. If they wanted to stay alive, they needed to stay fit. Joel was frustrated at being there. He still hadn't found out anything about his parents. The only people he saw were Noin and the other kids.

David raised his hand. "Um, Miss Noin?"

Noin looked up from a clipboard where she was signing something. "You'll meet them soon David, I promise. But they just got here and we still have to prep them for the shock."

David frowned. Jasmine was getting anxious as well, all though she wasn't quite as obvious as David was.

"Just get your training done. You should meet them by tonight." Noin smiled with understanding at the anxious kids.

One by one, the teens nodded and chose a machine to work on for the next three hours.

~~~
Hilde wiped her forehead as she left the cafeteria. It was hard work cleaning up after a food fight. Especially when Duo and Sally kept making things worse. Hilde grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and flopped down at a table.
"Hilde!" Relena cried. She ran up to where Hilde was sitting. "You won't believe this!"
"Then why bother telling me?" Hilde snapped a little too harshly. Relena was too excited to notice.
"Do you know why Noin insisted that we all come down here?" Relena asked, her eyes dancing.
"No," Replied Hilde, "But I think you do."
"That's right." Relena gasped. "They... they found them!"
"Found who?"
"Our kids!"
Hilde's eyes widened. Her hand flew up to her mouth. She began to cry. "Oh my god!" She gasped; then she started to laugh in disbelief. "They found them?"
Relena smiled and nodded.
"HAHA Yeah!" Hilde jumped up and started screaming. She and Relena bounced around the kitchen.
"What's all the excitement about?" Duo asked as he entered the kitchen.
"DUO!" Hilde cried. "They found them! Our kids, Duo, they found them! Our daughter, she's here!" She jumped into Duo's arms and hugged him tightly.
"Helen? She's HERE?" Duo asked. Hilde nodded quickly.
"Yeah!" Duo laughed. They both continued to jump around laughing.
"Let's go find them!" Duo suggested. Hilde nodded in agreement.
"I'll come too!" Relena cried. She followed them out the door.
Duo, Hilde and Relena found Noin in the hallway.
"Noin!" Duo cried. Noin looked up and smiled.
"I figured you guys would figure out they were here soon enough." Noin laughed. She pointed to a door next to her. "They're in there."
They didn't waste any time in entering the room. Inside were six normal teenagers. A younger-looking girl and a blonde boy were playing chess while one girl practiced some form of martial arts. A boy who looked just like her was obviously judging her ability.
A boy looked up from his golden retriever dog and smiled. "Hi mom! I've always wanted to say that."
Relena could hardly contain herself. "Jason!" She cried.
"That's Jason?" Duo whispered to Hilde, "He looks nothing like Heero or Relena."
Hilde giggled, then she gasped. "Look, there she is!" She said to Duo excitedly. She pointed to a girl in the corner playing with a game boy.
"That's her all right," Duo laughed. "She still has my braid."
Hilde froze, she was too nervous to move. It was a good thing for her when Helen noticed the couple staring at her and decided to come over.
"Helen," Duo smiled at her. He had to try hard not to hug her before she knew who he was.
Helen looked over the couple closely. Then something inside her just snapped. She knew who they were. Maybe it was their faces or the smell of his cologne, but something told her who they really were.
"Dad?" She whispered. Her mother gasped, "She remembers us!" She cried. Hilde threw her arms around Helen. And Helen returned her hug. She had no idea what to say to her parents whom she had not seen in fourteen years. Next her father joined in the big family hug.
"Aw, how cute." Jasmine cooed sarcastically.
"Watch it," Duo warned. "You’re beginning to sound like your Father, only you’re a bit more cheeky."
Jasmine snorted and looked insulted. "I am not cheeky!" She growled.
Duo looked at Helen. "We have a lot of catching up to do." He smirked. "Come on,"
"Duo, what are you doing?" Hilde questioned nervously.
"I’m going to show Helen what I do…used to do."
Hilde gasped. "Duo, no! Noin will freak!"
"Not if she doesn’t know," Duo replied.
He grabbed Helen and Hilde and pulled them out of the room. They snuck away from Noin, who had her back turned. Helen was confused, but followed her parents anyway. Duo took them straight to a hanger, and inside were five mobile suits, and then six more partially finished ones.
"Hey!" Cried Duo, "I didn’t know they were making more!" He turned to Helen; "You’re going to have fun with these, kid." He whistled at the mobile suits. "These are cool!"
"I don’t understand why I never got my own mobile suit." Hilde complained.
"Because YOU gave it all up." Duo answered.
"Hey! It was either that or stay with Oz! And don’t you agree that I made the right choice? Where would you be if you had never met me?"
"Probably lounging in one of Quatre’s mansions with a coconut." Duo smiled.
"No way! I would have killed you by now!"
"You? Kill me? I don’t think so sweetheart! I would have destroyed you!"
"You wouldn’t have the nerve."
"Yes I would! It’s you that doesn’t have any guts!"
The sarcastic screaming continued while Helen checked out the mobile suits. She recognized them. They were the Gundams!
"Dad, you were a Gundam pilot?" Helen asked.
Duo looked up from his argument. "Yup, and the best one too!"
"I beg to differ," A voice said from the other end of the hanger. No one was in sight, but Duo knew who it was.
"Oh, so you think you’re better than me, Heero?"
"No, I know I am." Heero replied. "And Noin is going to kill you when she finds out you snuck your daughter away from training."
"That’s it! Do you remember who vaporized those two mobile dolls with YOUR’S and Trowa’s battled data? Hmmm?"
"Mobile dolls cannot compare with a real pilot." Heero replied.
"Oh sure," Said Duo indignantly. "So that’s why YOU couldn’t handle them right?"
"I could have,"
"Nuh-un,"
"Shut up Duo, omae o korosu"
"HA! I’ve heard that before!"
"Yes, but this time I mean it," Now the voice was behind them and Duo jumped.
"Heero don’t do that!" Duo yelped.
"Why? Did I scare you?" Heero raised his eyebrow but his voice still had no expression.
"No! You just surprised me." Duo whined. Hilde and Helen stood to the side watching the argument with growing interest.
"Hilde help," Duo cried suddenly, "I think he’s really gonna do it this time!"
Hilde just smiled. "Not if I get there first," She chuckled.
Duo yelped. "Why does everyone want to kill me? Hilde you have a funny way of loving me."
"At least your wife didn’t stab you to show her affection," The group was joined by two more people.
"Quatre!" Duo cried, "My man! Help me out here please?"
Quatre smiled. "Heero, Relena’s on her way with Jason, you might want to put that gun away."
Heero groaned and the gun disappeared.
"Whoa, check that out!" Duo cried, "Not only can Heero make that thing show up from nowhere, he can also might it disappear to nowhere!"
