Business plan KCP

A three-year business plan was written for the Kagera Crop Producers Ltd (KCP). The KCPO is a membership-based organisation, and its membership mounted, at that time to up to 2,000 members.

 

Legal services MJCCDF

The Maswa Joint Co-operative Community Development Fund (MJCCDF) is in the process of being established. The MJCCDF received legal advice on how to best set-up the Fund, how to write the MEMARTS, to convey meetings, to work as a Fund.

 

Training Maziwa Mara

Maziwa Mara and PSDP conducted together a training on association management for members of associations in the field of diary in Mara and Mwanza. Four training sessions of one-week duration each were organised, in Musoma (twice), Geita and Mwanza. Some 82 participants were trained. The participants contributed to the training with an amount of at least the expenses for boarding and lodging.

 

Indicators and systemisation

It is important to establish indicators through which the performance of a programme like PSDP can be measured. This assignment is not yet contracted or finalised. Systemisation will give tools for replication.

 

Female groups TCCIA Kahama

In Kahama, a relative important number of female associations or groups are organised. They can become member of the TCCIA. The assignment was to see whether the female groups were recognised, and could welcome a further assistance.

 

Budget 2000 CTI and Budget 2001 CTI, TACECA, TCCIA, TAWE

A seminar was organised, together with CTI, TACECO, TCCIA and TAWE in order to show the Mwanza business community the consequences of the new budget. Aspects of taxation, economic growth, development potential and investment opportunities were a/o topics of the seminar. Some 90 entrepreneurs participated.

 

Female groups Bukombe

Bukombe is a very young district. The District Council welcomed the opportunity to investigate the potential of several of its female groups. The assignment was to do a first investigation into the groups potential.

Following the two preliminary studies, a follow-up study identified priority areas for further support to the female groups in the two districts.

 

Business plan TCCIA Kahama, TCCIA Maswa, TCCIA Bariadi, TCCIA Bukoba, TCCIA Karagwe , TCCIA Tarime

Defining, in a participatory way, the 3 year business plan for the Kahama, Maswa, Bariadi, Bukoba, Karagwe, Tarime district TCCIA. The plan is being reviewed after each year, as to guide the TCCIA further.

 

Roundtable dialogue platform between regional and district Government and Private Sector in Mara

Facilitation of the dialogue platform between Mara Government and private sector.

 

Privatisation and introduction of business units in agricultural research

Stimulating the process of business approaches in a State supported research station.

 

Entrepreneurship in veterinarian health care

Stimulation entrepreneurship in the district and rural veterinarian services, in view of future possible privatisation processes.

 

Pilot in contract management

Execution of training sessions for district councillors, district staff and private contractors in order to facilitate understanding of contractual arrangements and tendering procedures. The pilots took place in Maswa and Magu.

 

Business opportunities and economic potential

Studies are done to determine the economic potential and the sectors of the economy in which they exist, for Maswa and Karagwe district.

 

Inventory and support MWDA

Mwanza Women Development Association was supported with the development of new credit policies, training of trainers on training techniques and training on business counselling.

 

Business training

Kivulini women group was facilitated for the delivery of business training. TAWE is also supported with business training.
