The Space Elevator Comes Closer to Reality

I'm still working hard on the redesign of my web page folks but in the mean time a little heads-up. The site will now include a moderated blog link. The subjects covered will be

a) Current events from all over the universe

b) A blog page for dicussions like black holes, light travel etc

c) The Cutting Edge - postings on the far end of technological ideas now being or to be explored, no matter how exotic! And this first post is just to get things started.

From: www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/space_elevator_020327-1.html

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- Make way for the ultimate high-rise project: the space elevator. Long viewed as science fiction "imagineering", researchers are gathering momentum in their pursuit to propel this uplifting concept into actuality.

Still, the mental picture needed to grasp the elevator to space idea…well, you can't be weak of mind....

First you'll need to read the article on this one becuase it looks like some serious folks are about to begin a serious venture out into the way beyond!

Hey dude!

Welcome back, read that article and wondered about that part regarding the hi-rise building needed...31 mile high? Not sure about the economs on that but worth keeping an eye for sure.

Anyway, was wondering if you were going to put back on your bigbang paper in blog or as part of site. Still wanted to add my own comments on that one.

New site looking good and hope to see the rest soon. BTW - are you going to add a page for us amature astronomers out here to post their own work, results, images etc..you should as I believe no one else has.

Keep up the good work,

Dean the rocketman

Hey rocket dude,

Thanks for responding to my invite to web site so quickly.  Knew you were running Firefox and wanted some to test drive for cross compatibilty. Work on the .css flavors right now but after that the rest should go fairly smoothly.

Sorry about the verification thing I'll contact Lycos and see what's up.

I will be adding back my theory/ideas on the Big Bang but that also needs some updating. Remember, that was a school project thesis done many moons ago when the neutrino theory was just starting out in the lab enviroment stages.

"Ya, that's all I need, even more website pages to write and test..." was my first thoughts at your suggestion for a astronomy related submission page but after a couple of hours and a Gilagan's Island rerun - why not. I'll give the idea thought as to format but if you have any ideas of your own just throw them out here, if you will.

Back to whatever it was I was doing before whatever it was that I...never mind LOL!

ugh
