All's well -- Space Elevator Update
Mood:  cheeky
Topic: The Space Elevator?

Ugh!

Well, it seems things are moving along rather nicely; though expanding beyond what it was I originally was planning to do here at AUIT.

Anyhow, I've just about completed some of the more important updates and will be moving on to creating additional new pages in NEBULA, GALAXY and STAR sections soon. Some latest additions include a Video, News, Updates and Historical Bytes pages. BTW - as things seem to be prgoressing smoothly now I'll be switching from email to this BLOG post to kick things back and forth. As promised --

I wish to say a billion Thank You's to the following for their assistance and help with my "evolving" website:

rocket_man: for testing various pages across OS platforms and his recent email entitled, "Twelve errors you need to correct now". They're corrected! LOL but no more until school & work settle down a bit. Thank you!

Karen: Thanks a bunch for the tips regarding Firefox-Opera-IE and thanks for the "nested <p>'s in <h#>'s & undefined <li>'s do not work well in Firefox" email. That drove me almost over the edge -- thanks again.

scotty_scot: get a hobby dude! No, seriously, thank you for the help on historical bytes template.

You guys are great! [insert applause]

As for the space elevator post see the KQED/NOVA site here for a video regarding this idea:

Until next time guys--

Up, Running and So am I!!!
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Chug...chug...

Merry Christmas!

Thank you Deb, Dean, Val, Scott and all those people who have real names which at the moment are too many to set down now. The site is in full swing and I finally found the time to post again...xmas eve of all days! Anyway, you guys were very helpful and I can't thank you all enough for the testing, emails of help and comments.

As you and everyone else may have noticed I have been building the rest of this site by rotating through the sections rather than focusing on just one...while I may need to be continually busy it's the other side of the coin thing...the same old stuff gets to be just that so, keeping the site construction rotating is my way of not getting bored with the same old thing.

That said, thank you all again. I'll be getting around to the picture rotator script now that I found a good one (see news link in main) and soon braving the Big Bang theory with regard to outside the event (rocket-man stand by!)

Not too much else to report so heading back to hobby, site and work and will post here nex chance I have.

The Space Elevator Comes Closer to Reality

I'm still working hard on the redesign of my web page folks but in the mean time a little heads-up. The site will now include a moderated blog link. The subjects covered will be

a) Current events from all over the universe

b) A blog page for dicussions like black holes, light travel etc

c) The Cutting Edge - postings on the far end of technological ideas now being or to be explored, no matter how exotic! And this first post is just to get things started.

From: www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/space_elevator_020327-1.html

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- Make way for the ultimate high-rise project: the space elevator. Long viewed as science fiction "imagineering", researchers are gathering momentum in their pursuit to propel this uplifting concept into actuality.

Still, the mental picture needed to grasp the elevator to space idea…well, you can't be weak of mind....

First you'll need to read the article on this one becuase it looks like some serious folks are about to begin a serious venture out into the way beyond!
