Multiply by 11
An easy and quick way to multiply any two digit number by 11.
example:
72 x 11 = ?
to work it out quickly do the following:
First step: take the number to be multiplied by 11, in this case 72,,
don't look at it as 72 seventy two, no, instead look at it as 7 and 2 .
Two numbers, a seven and a two. Then add them up. Get the sum of 7 and 2
ie : 7 + 2 = 9
Next step: place the sum which is 9, between the two numbers
( the 7 and the 2 ) to get 7 9 2 ,,
792 which can be read as seven hundred and ninety two.
Therefor, 72 x 11 = 792

Look at it again :
72 x 11 = ??
the number to be multiplied by 11 is :
72 --------->>> which is a 7 and a 2
get the sum of ( 7 + 2 )= ( 9 )
which is to be placed between the 7 and the 2
7 9 2
Another Example :
24 x 11 = ??
Identify the numbers: the number to be multiplied by 11 is : 24
break it down: 24 --------->>> which is a 2 and a 4
Get the sum: ( 2 + 4 ) = ( 6 )
Make up the final result: place the ( 6 ) between the 2 and the 4
