My Photography Guide
DOCUMENTATIONS: This page is purely for my Photography study reference and my camera/lens specs.
To find the near, far and hyperfocal distance for a specific lens, enter the focal length (mm), aperture (f/number) and the object distance (whole or decimal number). The JavaScript program will calculate the near, far, depth and hyperfocal distances. The unit of measure for distances is feet. This can be overridden by selecting meters. Your MSIE browser will print these tables, others must print screen to the clipboard and then print from some other application.
One important item.
When you have your Hyperfocal distance set on your lens,
please do not make an attempt to refocus to bring everything sharp.
It will appear out of focus, but your final image will be tack sharp from the
fore ground to infinite.
Give it a try and resist the temptation to refocus.
I would like to thank Michael C. Gillett for letting me reprint his
DEPTH OF FIELD CALCULATOR
on Nature Photography by Gary D.Tonhouse web site.
