Chapter 26

“Ready to go back to the bus, hon?” he asked.
“Yeah,” I smiled.
“Guys, we’re goin’ back to the bus,” he informed as we left.
(A FEW MINUTES LATER)

Brian and AJ were laughing as they walked to the bus. They loaded themselves on only to be wacked with pillows from either side. They looked around and there was Nick and I, grinning away.
“You’re gonna get it now!” AJ cried and ran to grab his pillow. The rest(who had walked up) grabbed their’s and the battle was on.
“OW! That hurt!” I said falling to the floor looking up at Howie.
“Oh, sorry!” He said sympathetically. I took his hand and got up. Then I grabbed my pillow and hit him with it.
“You little...!” he shouted and grabbed for his pillow. I ran and he chased me.
“Nick, help!” I yelped and I was smacked with a pillow. It knocked me over and I tripped Howie. Then I gave him a good, hard whack!
“Hey!” he whined. I just laughed as did everyone else They had all stopped to watch us. I got up and helped Nick in his pillow battle with Jessie and Brian, who had joined forces. Finally, we all settled down on bunks even if it wasn’t ours. By then, we were on the road to the next city.
“Hey Meg! Let’s go play Nintendo!” Nick grinned. We got up and went to play.
“No way! You couldn’t beat me at this! I’m the queen of this game!” I screamed.
“Yeah, well, I’m the KING of it! I DID beat you!” Nick danced around.
“Hmph!” I looked away. “Let’s play another game.”
“Ok! How about Mario Cart?” Nick grinned.
“But I’m not good at that game!” I whined.
“All the better!” we sat down and played the game furiously until I miraculously beat him!
“YES!! I ROCK! Uh huh! Uh huh!” I sang and danced down the bus. “I beta Nicky at a game I suck at!” I sang loudly.
“Shut up!” Nick yelled playfully. I laughed. He tackled me then started tickling me.
“AHHH! Stop!” I giggled.
“No way!” he declared.
“Please?” I squealed.
“What’ll you give me?” he looked at me devilishly.
“This!” I leaned up and kissed him passionately.
“That’ll do,” he pulled away. Then he got off.
Everyone just rolled their eyes. I giggled and we went back to playing Nintendo.
“She’s like a girl version of him! It’s so cute!” Brian smiled. Everyone agreed except Howie, who had fallen asleep.
