February 9th, 2002 "Baby Got Back" Video Shoot
I didn't care that I only got a few hours of sleep (me and Ashley stayed up all night so excited about finally seeing The Grand Skeem, and we stayed up laughing so hard because my rooms in the attic and the wall is panneled so when you hit it dust falls down right onto my bed and we kept doing it for fun, needless to say we slept in dust)and I didn't care that I woke up sick as hell (actually I did care but it sounds better to say I didn't) cause I was going to see Grand Skeem! Me and Ashley kept our ride waiting for a little longer than we anticipated, so when we got to the Fernwood Center, the line was wrapped around the builing. But we went in there Easton style and butted in front of a lot of people, including a little girl claiming she was 14 who I thought was 9 and she even tried to start a fight with us. She also brought her mommy into it since she couldn't handle us herself. Oh well I spoke my mind and she shut up so it was all good. Actually, it wasn't, cause it was mad cold outside and we waited like 2 hours in line. Haha our ride actually waited cause we went to check out the arcade and stuff to see if the guys were in there. Since we had never seen them, we didn't know what they looked like, so everytime a group of 4 guys went by we would like listen to make sure they weren't talking about songs or that any girls were going up to them asking for autographs. It was too funny. I even went up to a few guys and asked if they were the Grand Skeem and their like "no, we're janitors". Woops! So when the line actually started moving, and we got through a couple cups of hot chocolate, they told us that we would have to wait another hour because the guys were doing another scene. I didn't mind the waiting, but I did mind the banging and drilling and shit that was going on to build the stage. It turned out we waited like 4 hours before the guys actually came, but when they did everyone's mood changed. I got autographs and pictures, pictures showing how much makeup I really did have on to cover the redness, like in this one. You wouldn't believe how many times I had to run to the bathroom to get toilet paper-I even started stuffing it in my pockets for easy access uhh it sucked!! Anyway, when we finally got to the video part, I was excited because I was right up front and I got to see the guys play and hear the song a billion times. It was a lot of fun I'm glad I did it, and I would do it again. (hopefully I can if they make a Shorti video!!)We got home really late like around 2 or something, and the day wasn't over-I was locked out of my house. We had to walk around South Side looking for a pay phone to call and see if anyone was home at my house. We even tried a church-but the God Damn Thing was locked! They should keep those open don't ya think? Well we walked around in the cemetary and stuff for something to do and then tried my house again and what do you know, someone answered. Turns out they were sleeping and "didn't hear us banging and screaming to let us in". Whatever..it was a crazy day but it was so much fun!
