The Story...
Armory formed in January 2005 with long time friends Justin Wisner and Aaron Smith. Justin had gone through a string of
go-no-where bands with half decent music. Finally he began writting music by himself and then had his younger brother begin to play drums with him. However Justin didn't really want to be a solo artist, he wanted to be in a band. So Justin got his long time friend Aaron Smith to play bass with him, at first they tried playing with a different drummer because Justin's brother was so much younger, and they went by the name Heartbreaking Split (named after a news article about Brad and Jen splitting up). But things weren't really working out with their drummer and they hated their name, so within a couple of months time they had Justin's younger brother Jared Wisner (affectionately known as ''Blondy'') join the band on drums, and they changed their name to Armory. Blondy (Jared) is a whole nother story by himself, and though i'm sure he's not the only 8 year old in the world who can drum, he's got an amazing talent for being so young. Jared is only 8 and a half years old and he's good enough to play with probably 90% of the bands out there today (if you don't believe me then listen for yourself). All of the members of Armory are into all kinds of music, anything thats done well. From metal and hardcore to pop and techno, from progressive rock and funk to celtic, industrial, goth, hardrock, soft rock, old school rock, anything 80's, emo, screamo, punk, and anything inbetween. It is evident in their music that they like many styles of music. ''We don't want to be tied down to just one style of music'' says lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Wisner, and though Armory's music tends to lean towards the heavier side (bands such as Underoath, mewithoutYou, Haste the Day, The Used, and He Is Legend) there are still songs which bring to mind bands such as The Juliana Theory, Finch, and Further Seems Forever. As Well as the old school punk rocker (for those who are into Pennywise, The Oi! Scouts) and the pop punk song (for those into Good Charlett, Simple Plan). If you're into music at all, or are just curious about a 8 year old kid playing drums, Armory is deffinitely worth checking out.
