Maglev

The word "maglev" is short for Magnetic Levitation Train. These high-speed ground transportation vehicles use electromagnetic technology to hover above a track called a guideway, and are propelled by magnetic fields. Though lower-speed maglev trains- trains that go under 100 km/hr(less than 62 mph), that is- are used for urban travel, there is more emphasis on the faster trains. Maglevs can go over 500 km/hr (around 310 mph). In the future, some say these trains could even be able to go 600-1000 mph.
