Following a serious stroke, the actor Abe Oncide became
convinced that he was re-incarnation of the King of
San Francisco. Although confined breifly at a mental
institution, he was later released when it was determined
that he "might just be playing everyone for the fool" -
being well known for many years as a character actor.
Abe continues his work in theatre workshops, giving
his time freely to help aspiring actors of all ages
and orientations to ful-fill their dreams. As well,
drawing on his many years as an apprentice Foley
(sound) artist, he continues to teach and help in the
creation of what he often refers to as:
I want to create a sound landscape
that for the blind would be as an
Ansel Adams picture would be for
the hearing. If we can make the
un-heard visible and the un-seen
audible, then - and only then - are
the ducks at peace.
