The spiral is a version of the universal theme of infinity. Like the ever
expanding rings of a tree, the spiral symbolizes continual growth and the
cycling of the seasons. Each turn of the spiral returns to its origin, while
continuing to progress outward as it develops toward maturity. Also a powerful
female symbol, the spiral suggests fertility and the womb. Made from glazed
red earthenware clay, the back of this limited edition piece displays the
artist's signature stamp and the LQP chop mark. Left to right, 1 1/2 high,
