Sacred tree

This tree, found near the Bone Eater's well, has been around for ages and is in both the Feudal and Present era. Inuyasha was sealed to this tree by Kikyou's arrow 50 years ago.

Sango

Sango is a demon exterminator. Her village of Demon slayers was attacked by Naraku and everyone was killed except for Sango and her younger brother, Kohaku. Now Naraku has taken Kohaku and Sango has teamed up with Inuyasha and the gang in order to get revenge on Naraku and get her brother back.

Sesshoumaru

Sesshoumaru is Inyasha's brother. Since Sesshoumaru is a full demon, he hates Inuyasha because Inuyasha is a half-demon. Sesshoumaru is also jealous because he father gave Inuyasha the powerful sword Tetsusaiga and gave him the Tensaiga, which only has the power to resurrect the dead. Although Sesshoumaru pretends to hate humans, he allows a young girl named Rin to travel with him and protects her on several occasions.

Shikigami

Priestesses often use Shikigami in this anime. Shikigami are like spirts which can be controlled by the priestesses to do things for them. They can be created from inanimate objects such as paper cutouts.

Shikon Jewel

The Shikon Jewel, or Jewel of Four Souls, is a very powerful jewel which can make demons stronger if it gets in their hands. 50 years ago it was protected by Kikyou, but was burned with her body when she died. It was later brought back to the feudal era when it came out of Kagome's body. Kagome broke the jewel with one of her arrows and now she is working with Inuyasha to collect the shards to make the jewel whole again.

Shinchinintai

Shinchinintai is the Japanese term for the Band of Seven, the warriors resurrected by Naraku.

Shindamachu

Shindamachu are the soul-collectors Kikyou uses. The look similar to white snakes that float through the air.

Shiori

Shiori is a young half-demon girl who has been kidnapped by her demon grandfather in order to erect a barrier. In order to strenghen his sword, Inuyasha is told he must break Shiori's barrier. However, Inuyasha is able to return the girl to her mother with out killing her, and still is able to figure out a way to make his Tetsusaiga break barriers.

Shippo

Shippo is a young fox-demon. His father was killed by the Thunder brothers, so now Shippo travels with Kagome and Inuyasha. Shippo and Inuyasha don't get a long very well, and fight with each other a lot.

Sota

Sota is a grade school student and he's the little brother of Kagome. He's always willing to take advice from his older sister and also adimires Inuyasha quite a bit.

Suikotsu

Suikotsu is a memeber of the band of Seven. He has multiple personalities, one being a good doctor, the other an evil warrior. When he is awakened, his personality is that of the good doctor and he works in a village with orphaned children and meets Kikyou there. His brothers later come for him and his personality turns.
