Macross 7 Episode Summaries

Episode 1: Speaker Pod

The year is 2045 the U.N. Spacy has sent the crew of Macross 7 to find the Galactic Core. Our series begins with the daughter of Max Sterling named Mylene debut concert as a member of a small time rock band called Fire Bomber. Max watches from above a hill that surrounds the concert hall as his Mylene sings My Friends. While the concert is going on an unknown enemy starts to attack Macross 7 and City 7. Max Sterling we learn is the Admiral of the Macross 7 and launches the newest in valkirye fighters out to do battle including the prestigious group known as Diamond force. Elsewhere Nekki Basara the lead singer of Fire Bomber races of in a valkeriye of his own to join the battle. Around this same time we learn that the enemy has a laser that shoot directly out of the head area of the mechs that drains the spiritual energy out of its enemies. Almost all the members of Diamond Force fall victim to this attack for the exception of Gamlin. Just when all looks lost Nekki Basara shows up in his valkariye and starts to sing towards the enemy using a somewhat similar tactic that Lynn Minmei used about 30 years ago. This Tactic apparently has an effect on the enemy and they are forced to retreat Basara gets upset that they didn't let him finish his song.

Episode 2:

In this episode Mylene is trying to escape from her moms assistant in a daring car chase scene. Her voyage takes her to Ray's place but he is not home, fortunately for her Basara apartment is right next to Ray's and begs him to let her in. Basara lets her in and hides her out from her Mom (Miriya) and her assistant. When the two leave we learn that the reason why Mylene was running away was that her mom wants her to have an arranged marriage with someone. Mylene objects and gets really angry over this situation, while Basara continues to write notes for his new song. Eventually Ray shows up and tells the two that they have to get ready for the gig they have. Just then another battle erupts outside the Macross 7. Basara once gain races out to sing to the enemy Mylene scolds him for being irresponsible. Basara starts to sing Planet Dance while Gamlin tries to stop Basara and avenge the members of Diamond force that lay comatose. Once again the enemy retreats and Basara lands his mech outside of his apartment. Mylene goes back to Basara's place and tells him to hurry up or they will be late for their concert. He tells her let them wait a little and thus the episode ends.
